Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This dispenser housing shield kit contains genuine replacement parts. It includes the dispenser funnel, frame, spring, and the hardware you will need to install it. The funnel and frame are made out of black plastic. Before installing a new dispenser make sure you shut the water supply off and unplug the refrigerator.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

Ease to assemble if you have logic
The part worked great. However you need some common logic to figure how the part goes together.
Also the wiring has to be disconnected so it will fit into/through the new part. Nothing like the old part but it will work and the Micky Mouse instructions are worthless. Some instructions on how the part assemble together and how the wiring fits through the new part are needed.
Part is great and works great.
Again needs some instruction to go along with part.

Though there was no video on PartSelect site, they did reference a video on YouTube which was dead on.
The parts came in a timely manner, in excellent condition. The staff on the phone was extremely helpful, I only wish there was more companies around as dead on as these guys!!

Part worked excellent for my fridge. Would have given it 5 stars if the installation instructions were better. Thanks to YouTube I was able to install correctly.

Water/Ice Dispenser worked sporadically.
I used the video Parts Select referenced on YouTube, which showed a technician doing the repair. In my particular instance I did not need to remove the escutcheon around the dispenser using a putty knife or remove screws from underneath. There are two tabs in lieu of the two screws that I used a Phillips screwdriver on to push in which re

I'd like to add that this is the second time I've used Parts Select for a different appliance and thank God for their showing you what the part looks like and the videos, it helps bolster your confidence to do the repair correctly! I only wish there was more sites like this.

My lever broke to push the cup in to get the water. The part seems to be connected to the funnel. But this part that is being sold here the funnel and the lever seem to be separate. Even though it says it is compatible with my refrigerator.
For model number Pss26mstcss
Hello Kristen, Thank you for the question. Checking the model number the PartSelect Number PS2364929 is the correct part for the model number PSS26MSTCSS however GE has discontinued the original part and replaced it with this kit. It may look different in appearance but will still fit and work the same as the original parts. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

I ordered the replacement housing kit WR49X10228 to replace the original discontinued part, but now have a broken paddle only. Is it possible to separately order this part without ordering the full dispenser arm kit? If so, which part number is it?
For model number PSS26LSRCSS
Hello D, thank you for your inquiry. The dispenser paddle for your model cannot be ordered separately as it only comes as a part of this kit. We hope this information helps!

When i put a glass in the ice/water dispenser and push it up against the dispense bar the bar pushes in softly and no noise is heard and water and ice do not dispense into the glass. The bar slowly moves back forward after the glass is removed. It's very soft and no activity is heard from the panel or seen when it is pushed in. It goes in soft and slowly comes back out when the glass is removed. I'm wondering if this is an electrical issue or a mechanical part that has broken. Not sure if it is a recess crank, torsion fit spring, door spring, micro switch or what? Thank you. Mike
For model number LSS25XSWASS
Hi Mike,
Thank you for your question. You will likely have to physically look at your dispenser parts to determine if any of your springs or recess crank is broken in any way. As far as electrically, I would suggest checking your micro switch and your dispenser solenoid. You can test both of those parts with a multi meter. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
