I have water leaking from the black plastic case that houses the drain pump. It drains fine (pump works). It only leaks from here while the wash machine is agitating. The second the pump kicks on to drain the machine during a spin cycle, it stops leaking. Could this be a seal?

Can this check ball cause the F21 code error that I’ve been receiving for 6 months that is getting progressively worse. Pump, filter, hoses etc, all clean. Restarting, unplugging etc only helps temporarily. Please advise. Thank you

Hello Curt, thank you for the question. The issue is probably caused by the drain check ball. The check ball sits inside the drain hose or at the connection between the tub and pump. Its purpose is to act as a one-way valve preventing water from siphoning back into the tub after draining. It swells or deforms with age and partially blocks the flow. Gets coated with detergent residue and mineral deposits. You can remove the ball. The ball is not needed and must be discarded. Simply remove it and do not replace it. If there is a chance of water siphoning back, you can replace it with part number PS1491714. We hope this is what you were looking for!

Hi Tom, thank you for your question. There are a few parts that you could look at for this issue. Most of the time customers who experience this issue have to replace their flowmeter. However the problem could also be in your door lock, or your drain pump. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
