Small motor big sound
My PSS26LSRCSS, refrigerador purchased in 2004, for the last year or so has been making high pitch humming sound. After having a man in the business check it out. PartSelect video showing how to make repair was for different model refrigerator. Repair was much more difficult than video showed. Assembly could not be removed from refrigerator and had to be disassembled inside enclosure for condenser and compressor. A tedious process. Part was perfect fit. Suggestion: If you don't have video for model that customer has, don't show another model. Wrong model shown caused me to waste a lot of time trying your method.

Removed rear and front grills,brushed and vacuumed area- probably caused the fan motor to fail- unplugged fan, removed fan,motor,and shroud in 1 piece, carefully slipped fan off motor shaft, unscrewed shroud and motor. assembled in reverse order. Frige is in tight area, .I'll now roll it out and clean often

Warm freezer and no ice

As an experiment, I aimed a fan at the it for a while I saw that the freezer temperature dropped back to normal. .The fan is marked as 11.2 DC so I checked for voltage at the fan and found some. With three wires and no wiring diagram I wasn’t sure this answered all the questions, but hooking the fan to a 12 volt power supply didn’t get it to spin. I priced parts at a couple websites before using partselect.com . They also have a good diagram to look at (Sears diagrams are really poor). I ordered the part with 2-day shipping; it arrived on time, was correct and fixed the problem.

It's a french door fridge.The freezer is working fine.But the fridge stop working on the upper section.Is it the condenser fan that need to be change?

Hello Milton, Thank you for your inquiry. The condenser fan is down by the compressor and is designed to cool the compressor and condenser coils. The evaporator fan motor is located in the back of the freezer, and circulates air over the refrigerator coils. These coils will convert the heat into cool air, which is then circulated. I would test both the evaporator fan and the damper assembly as that is what controls the flow of cold air from the freezer to the fridge section. Hope this helps!

1. Ice is forming in the freezer back wall. Now, it makes a loud knocking sound, ice builds up on freezer's back wall. The refrig stays above 50 degrees but now the freezer works (the last two days). The first thing that went was the icemaker then some parts of the refrig would freeze food. I don't really care about the ice maker and the water dispenser because i am now in a place without the hook-up. I had used a hair dryer and it used to help but not anymore.

Hello Sally, thank you for your question. The ice buildup on the back of the freezer wall is due to the evaporator coils that are behind that back wall, not defrosting. I would recommend replacing the HEATER DEF ASM PartSelect Number: PS2323339, the Defrost Thermostat PartSelect Number: PS1155318, Temperature Sensor PartSelect Number: PS304103 and the Evaporator Fan Motor
PartSelect Number: PS1019114 (if the motor is no longer blowing air into the fridge section from the back wall of the freezer). I hope this information helps!

Thank you for the question, if the appliance is still running and the fans still kick on and off I suggest checking the Electronic Board,PartSelect Number PS12069099.This board controls the operation of the unit and is the most likely the defective part.

Hi, It is about a GE side by side fridge. The fridge is not cooling well, the foods in the freezer is melting and the compressor is very very hot. When I put an external fan behind the fridge, the fridge was working well. The condenser fan is rotating but very slowly. Is this due to faulty condenser fan motor or the main board? What is the part number for the fan motor and the main board for this fridge model?

The Fan keeps the compressor cool so it is not over working and causing it to heat up and effect the temperature in the appliance. We suggest replacing the Fan Motor. Hi, the freezer section is not getting cold enough, the condenser fan turns very slow. It only gets 4.5 volt from the main control board. After we made the diagnostic test on the panel the freezer display pads is showing -18c but the temperature in the freezer is just +22c.Do you know what is the possible reason why it is like that? Could it be that there something happened when we did the diagnostic test? I hope to hear something from you soon.

Hi Jan, Thank you for the question. If the fan is turning slow and it is not getting enough volts, I suggest replacing the control board. The board can also be causing the temperature display issues. Hope this helps!

My condenser coils continue to freeze up after several weeks of runtime. I can tell when the fresh food sides starts getting warm that the coils are freezing up and temperatures continue to rise. I have replaced all 3 temp sensors, the defrost thermostat and the defrost heater lamp but the problem continues. I have noticed that when the fan starts running that it is barely spinning and then ramps up speed after several minutes. Is this normal or could it be a problem that is causing the ice buildup?

There is clicking sound coming from back of condenser fan it try’s to turn but will not i was wanting to know what part i need and volt i need thanks for ur time

Hello Virgil, thank you for your question. If the clicking is coming from the condenser fan it should be replaced. However, that clicking is usually caused by a bad capacitor on the compressor. If the compressor isn't running, and the condenser fan isn't moving either, we would recommend testing the OVERLOAD Part #: PS310326, and RELAY START Part #: PS963837. If the compressor is running, but the condenser fan isn't moving when its on, the condenser fan should be replaced which is PartSelect Number: PS1483567. I hope this helps.

Freezer and refrigerator are both 75 degrees, I believe the evaporator fan is running I can hear it and when I press the light switch it runs, I can tell that air is circulating but not cooling. I don’t think the compressor is trying to turn on, no clicking no other noises. Replaced defrost timer, evaporator fan, temp control about 2 years ago.
