I pulled the wave over off and then realized it was not to be removed. A small part of the foil covering came off the cardboard but I reinstalled it. Will that affect the use of microwave?

Hello Bernie, Thank you for your inquiry. The wave guide cover is designed to protect from too much microwaves from the magnetron entering the oven cavity. Additionally, it stops moisture and food particles from getting into the internal parts of the microwave. If it is damaged in any way, it is recommended to replace it.
