no drain, and pin hole in hose causing slight leak
The most time consuming part was fitting the hose back on because of the confined space. Once on the rest was a snap. The drain pump installed just the same as the video, so watch the video! I think in total it took about 30 minutes to complete.

It wouldn't drain anymore so I started looking on the internet for a solution. I came upon this website and found the part I needed. It was easy to install. It fixed the problem I had with the washer.
I just took off the old part and installed the new one. The new part was a bit different.

F 21 code kept appearing even though trap clean out was clear.
Replaced drain pump took longer to soak up water than actually replacing the pump motor with mine having the pedestal underneath I did not have to tip the washer at all so it was fast and easy. Three screws taking the front cover off a screwdriver lifting the Rubber and sliding the motor off and pair of pliers 4 to hose clamps making it a breeze.

replace the pump motor
First tilt the washer back so you can drain water from the lines to the pump and the pump itself. Disconnect the lines with a pair of pliers and use a screwdriver to move the rubber stopper so that the pump will move to the right. With pump now in position to lift up and out of the washer , do it so you can disconnect the wire assembly. Replace the pump starting with the wires, then slide it in place and secure it with the rubber stopper. Attach the lines and make sure they are well sitted and clamped. set on feet and you are ready to wash.

The washer drain pump had to be replaced.
Unplugged the washer from electric outlet. Removed front cover by using nut driver to remove the two screws. Drained the water from the washer into a pan by loosening the cap on the filter. Removed the two hoses by compressing clamps with pliers. Unplugged the electric wire from old pump. Used screw driver to pry rubber feet of old pump loose from washer floor panel. Set old pump aside. Installed new pump using a little dish soap to help attach rubber feet to washer. Attached the two hoses using pliers. Plugged electric wire into new unit. Ran washer to check for leaks. Replaced front cover using nut driver on the two screws.

Code#f9e1
PartSelect logo
Hi Samuel, Thank you for your question. The F9 E1 error code is referring to a long drain. If the drain exceeds 8 minutes, the valves will turn off and the pump will stop running. If too much soap was used, the excess suds can cause this code to appear. You should also check to see if the drain hose is blocked or has a kink in it. Make sure the drain hose is not sealed into the drain pipe. Make sure the drain hose does not exceed 96 inches. Make sure that their is no debris in the drain pump. Check to make sure the pressure hose is not pinched, kinked, plugged or leaking air. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

I keep getting codes f21 and sd . Drain hose are not in a bind and not extra suds. Can you give me any idea? Most often the f 21 code. Thanks Kenny
For model number WFW8410SW01
PartSelect logo
Hi Kenny, Thank you for the question. F21 means the washing machine has a water draining issue. The drain pump itself, or the drain hose is clogged. Since the hose is good, I suggest checking the drain pump, if the pump is not clogged you may need to have it replaced. At times suds can build up in the pump and the machine finds it really hard to clear them out. You may need to remove it and clean it out manually. Also make sure you are using the correct type of detergent in the correct amounts. Hope this helps!

Has anybody had the impeller fall off .Got a new pump assembly washed 2 loads of clothes when it wouldn't pump again do to impeller loose
For model number wpw 10730972
PartSelect logo
Hi April, Thank you for your question. Yes, sometimes they do break off. Before checking to see if they are broken, unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet and pull it out from the wall. To verify if they are broken, put your finger into the drain outlet and feel the impellers if the pump freely turns. One or more of them may be broken. If so, you'll be able to feel them while you are turning the pump flywheel with your other hand. You also may see broken pieces of plastic in the bottom of the pump housing. There is a video on our website that you can reference on how to remove and install a washing machine drain pump so you can check the impellers. The washing machine may not show exactly like the one you have and the pump may be different, but it will give you a general idea on how to install the part. You will find the video under part number PS11757304. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

For model number WFW9150WW01

Hello Bill, thank you for your question. You may want to remove the pump to be sure there are no blockages. The pump will get warm but shouldn't be hot to the touch. I hope this helps!
