A few month ago, i ordered a replacement cooktop knob wpw10284885 and it did not fit. The shaft sheath on the knob was too long, and it would not do on the cook top shaft. Also, the orientation of the know was the opposite of what it should be (to put the dot indicator in the right position.) the part numbers are stamped exactly the same. I have pictures of the replacement part (which does not fit) and i have an existing knob. I wanted to see if you have experienced this in the past...because, now, i am not sure what part to order?

The part that you are referencing in your question is not the same knob that you are inquiring about underneath your model information.
