Oven did not light---only glowed
I thought that the initial problem based on the users manual may had been the thermostat.
Removal of the old unit and installation of the new one was quite simple.
The only time lag was cleaning some of the surrounding areas of the oven as worked progressed.
As it turned out though, the problem wasn't the thermostat, but rather the igniter.
But, that was a fairly easy job as well!

Could not turn the oven on or off.
Lifted the top up, only a few inches as the possibality of kinking the gas line was a issue. Took two screws out and replaced the unit, threaded the thermostat down through the oven. It was a breeze. I am 68 year old woman and did I myself.
Most importantly, the process of getting the part was amazing, ordered it in the AM and received it the next day (no extra charge)and by miday the range was good as new. Great service!

Thermostat was forced/broken with pliers by tenant
I first unplugged the electric cord and closed gas valve. Then I removed the grates and burners from the cooktop and poped open the cooktop, prying it loose with a flat screwdriver. I was able to lift it about 2 .5 inches, barely enough to get my hand in. I then removed the 2 screws that hold the thermostat in place, unplugged the two wires connecting to the thermostat, noting the red goes on the left side. I then threaded the sensing bulb from the oven back up to the cooktop and removed the whole unit. To install the new one, I just reversed steps. Only cautionary note is with the aluminum tubes under the cooktop. Be careful not to pull them too much or they'll bend beyond repair.

Oven/Broiler Would Turn On At Random.
Easily repaired. Removetop grates & burners . Use philips screwdriver to remove one screw holding each of the burner assembly. Pull straight forward thermostat control knob. Remove two philips screws holding old thermostat. Remove thermostat & wire heat sensing unit. (All connected together) reverse above process to install new thermostat & knob.

Thermostate seized up (wouldn't turn)
Removed the burners, unscrewed the gas assembly from the stove top, removed the two screws securing the thermostat, pulled out the old thermostat, installed new thermostat and put back together in reverse order.

Also, I replaced both "orifice fitting assemblies" due to pinched burner gas lines from previous "Mr. Fix-it's" working on the stove.

Both jobs were easy for the average do-it-yourselfer and needed minimal tools to accomplish.

thermostat went out
Had to take off burners and lift off top. Then I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires and removed old element. Then I did all steps in reverse to install new thermostat.

Igniter glows but takes along time to light and i can smell gas how or what part need replaced
For model number MGR1320BDW

Hello Billie, thank you for your question. The igniter itself should be replaced first. The igniter can glow, but not get hot enough to light the gas. If the igniter doesn't fix the issue, we would recommend testing the thermostat and the safety valve. I hope this helps!
