Broken plastic allowing ice to fall into the freezer.
At the bottom of the dispenser, mine had a motor coupler retained by a Phillips screw. The difficult part started when that screw would not budge. I had to drill it out. Be warned - when you remove the coupler do not allow the bent shaft that extends into the ice bin to slide out. If you do, the 5 crusher arms and a bunch of nylon spacers

Use the wear marks on the shaft as a guide to spacer placement. Crushing is accomplished by reversing rotation, so index the arms with that in mind.
Turn off ice maker. Remove all ice from ice bin. Lift old bin from auger assembly. Place new ice bin legs in slots in top of auger assembly until they locked in place.

the clips were broken
7 of the 8 clips where the ice bin meets the ice grinder were broken. We took out the ice bin and ice grinder, removed the old bin and put in the new bin. Requires no tools and pretty basic to repair.

My Kenmore ice maker (106.58906801) will not release. What should i do?
Hi Carol,
Thank you for your question. If the ice maker is not dispensing, We would recommend checking the following parts to fix your issue: ice mold, cycling thermostat, and ice maker control assembly. You can test the parts with a multimeter. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, there are YouTube videos available to assist you. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

The inner workings of my ice crusher blades and components are rusting. I assume the blades are stainless but other parts must not be. I would like to find out how and how much it is to purchase all of the crushing components?
For model number 106.54616300
Hello Randy, Thank you for the question. Not all of the crusher parts are available and have been discontinued. I suggest replacing the full bin, PartSelect Number PS11740352. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!
