Product Description

Rubber Foot Pad Specifications

The leveling leg pad or foot pad fits over the leveling leg on your washing machine. The foot pad is designed to protect your floor and keep the washing machine level and in place. This foot pad is just over an inch in diameter. It is made entirely of rubber and is gray in color. This pad is intended for use with washers and some dryers. Many of our customers have rated this repair as very easy. To complete the repair, turn the old leg counter clockwise to remove it. Then, simply remove the old pad and replace it with the new one. Finally, re-attach the leg by turning clockwise. Ensure that the washer is level, and adjust the leg accordingly if it is not.

Stripped leveler screw making impossible to level my washer
Put blocks under the washer where the leveling leg was needed and screwed the part into the washer. Then it was just a matter of moving the washer into place and leveling. Pretty easy.

Seal failure, leading to bearing failure
Not much to add to others' descriptions of the repair except for two things- one, the procedure for removing the front shroud on a stackable unit is somewhat different than what is described in the seal kit directions. The door switch assembly gets in the way; though the whole repair can be done by one person, it would be better (and safer) to have a second person helping at least during this part. The whole shroud is unwieldy, with two drain hoses attached, along with two dispenser hoses, the door switch/light, and the side & bottom mounting brackets, and it has to be eased out one step at a time. During the last part of this you will have to lift up the front of the dryer at the same time.

Second, our particular washer has a 90xxxx serial number. The bearings are Chinese-sourced, not the good NSK bearings. Though the listed bearing numbers are the same... the rear bearing is held in by a retainer that is permanently fixed into the outer tub. There is no easy way to drive the bearing forward, either, as the retainer covers nearly all the bearing outer shell. The chances are very high that the outer tub would be damaged beyond repair if the retainer or bearing was removed. Fortunately in this washer, the back bearing was still in reasonable shape and had some grease left; I was able to pop out the grease seal and re-pack it with wheel bearing grease. The front bearing & seal are replaced as others have described. The front bearing takes a majority of the load, so others may have similar wear.

This washer was only 3 1/2 years old; we bought six Maytag appliances at the same time, and four of the six have had major repair problems (two were cheaper to replace than repair). That, and the $678 replacement cost of the outer tub, explains why the Maytag repairman is so lonely...

Bearings went out in the drum.
purchased the bearings at Napa auto parts for 16$. Over all it was a little difficult to get the bearings out and back in. Used a brass drift to drive them out and to seat them back in..

Belt was hard and made a squeaking nosie, rubber pads were o good because of age.
First I disconnect the electrical power, 2nd disconnect the vent tube, 3rd removed the four screws on the back of the dryer, 4th removed the front panel and disconnect the wires for the door switch, 5th remove the cover that holds the drum inplace, 6th remove the belt, 7th vacum all parts to remove any lint and dirt from the inside of dryer, 8th reassemble the parts in the reverse order. this took me about 55 minutes from start to finish. The parts were right which made the job very easy. The rubber foot pads were easy, just remove the old ones and install the new ones. Thank you for the right parts.
