Agitator had broke off from the wash plate.
Replaced the wash plate and agitator. The new parts (bolt and washer that holds the two parts together) were different then the original parts and were much better. They should last a lot longer.

How can I find a base to fit a Kenmore series 80 washer? I think the agitator is ok but i believe i stripped the base when i overloaded it. I took the agitator off and ran the washer and it made bad noises and didn't move the base.

What tools are needed to install the upper agitator I purchased and the bolt?
For model number MVWC465HW3
Hello Karen, Thank you for the question. You will need to use a flat head screw driver to pop off the cap on the top of the agitator. Once removed you will need a 7/16 Socket to remove the bolt from the agitator. Once the bolt is removed, just pull the Upper Agitator up and off. We hope this helps!

Agitator snapped off on the face do you have a replacement for it I understand this also a new Bolt that comes with it my maytags over 10 years old.
From my understanding they had problems with this before and they came up with this new bolt with the rubber on it the stop is from happening
