RS504P2AD Hotpoint Range - Instructions

I removed the 2 screwws inside the oven cavity and pulled the element towards me. I unplugged the wires from the element and plugged in the new one and secured it in place with the 2 screws.

Shut off electrical supply to stove.Remove 2 screws.
Slide element out enough to remove connectors from element.
Position new element.Slide connectors onto new element.
Slide element back into position.Replace 2 screws.Turn on electrical supply.

Turned off the breaker to the stove, removed oven racks, used small pair of plyers to remove bolts (2) holding defective element in place. Pulled (2) wires that had a snap connection apart. Old element was not removed. Connected (2) snap wires, pushed them back into the oven wall, used plyers to re-connect the element to oven. Installation DONE!
Turned on breaker and then the oven; we are now baking again.

It was real easy all I had to do was turn the breaker off,Undo two srews and disconnect the two wires. Then repeated the process to install

The replacement element came within a couple of days of our order. From the time I saw it by the front door till the repair was complete was about 10 minutes. Half the time was taken in walking to my tool box. In just a few minutes we had tested the new element and were ready to make dinner. Great value for the price.

I removed the 2 nuts and pulled the element out until I reached the disconnect and unhooked the elements from the wire. Replaced the new one in reverse order. It was great finding the part here after Sears said they no longer made the part.

removed two bolts on the inside of the oven, disconnected the two electrical connections in back which were a little set so I had to use pliers and removed old element. Reversed procedure to install new element.

The >15 minutes includes vacuuming out the oven.

first removed the two screws,pulled the element out ,disconnected the wires, pulled it out , cleaned the oven and then reversed the process. could not have been easier for a do it yourself homeowner on a budget.

Remove the oven racks, remove the two retaining screws, unplugged the wires. Install wires on new bake element, insert element into opening, install & tighten retaining screws, replace oven rack's & there you have it.

First - really check that the part you order will fit. Our oven is 30 years old and the first part we ordered was not correct, but it came the very next day after we ordered it which is amazing. We were more careful about measuring for the second one and it came almost as quickly. It only took a few seconds to unscrew the old element and then reattach the wires to the new one and screw it back into the oven. Very simple. I highly recommend PartSelect.

shut power off to range, took 2 screws out, took 2 snap on clips off old element. put snap on clips on new element, put 2 screws back in, and turned breaker on.

unscrewed it unhooked the wires and replaced with new part

Two screws hold the element to the oven wall. two wires attached to the back of the element. very simple removal and replacement.

Inspected bake element. Found void. Ordered new bake element from Parts Select. Price was very reasonable. Part came the next day. Stove was fixed in 5 minutes. Great place to get appliance parts. Saved over $100 if repairman was involved.

Well...you'll notice in other tools I put Tweezers. Now you really don't need tweezers if you do it right in the first place. Here's what I did: 1) unscrewed the nuts that hold the element in on the back of the unit. 2) Then pulled the terminals out of the holes in the back of the oven. OOPS...there were sparks as the right terminal wire hit the metal frame of the back of the oven. Scared me. I jumped. the terminal wire burned/broke off and fell back into the hole. Yep...Too late I remembered that the VERY first step of this repair is 1)CUT OFF THE POWER TO THE OVEN. I repeat...THE FIRST STEP IS TO CUT OFF THE POWER TO THE OVEN. I couldn't reach the wire with the needle nose pliers so I had to go get the tweezers. Couldn't see the wire but I just put the tweezers in about two times and it finally caught on the wire and I was able to pull it out. Luckily the terminal end was still connected to the wire so I didn't have to replace it. From there it was 3)remove the old terminal posts from the wires (used the needle nose here to wiggle the ends off - been on a long time), 4)insert the new ones, 5) push the terminal posts back in the holes, 6) screw the nuts back on, 7) bake the cornbread. A very quick job -- plus the element from PartSelect was almost half the price of any other I found (due to this I was able to upgrade the shipping a little to get it sooner and still saved money over any other price I found. Just remember to CUT OFF THE JUICE BEFORE YOU START this repair and it will be done in 5 mins or less.
