MSK27PFXDAA General Electric Refrigerator - Instructions

Repair went exactly like the video. With this video it was easy to make the repair. There were no surprises or problems and I felt confident in the videos instructions. It was like pushing the easy button.

used a flat screwdriver to pop off out side cover then remove 6 screws took off plate. Pulled off the flapper and replaced. less the 15 mins and fixed the issue

The solenoid in the dispenser was overheated due to the control board failure. After I rerplaced the board I found the heat had distorted the plastic crank and jammed the solenoid action. The plastic crank was easy to replace. Now after expending approx. $75 everything works normally!

pulled fridge away from wall, shut water to fridge disconnected both lines,back one and front one.Removed old water resevoir 1 screw. cut old lines at resevoir. used small threaded rod (1"long)to connect old lines to new lines and taped together,pulled new lines with old lines and reconnected.No lifting of fridge,actual repair under 1 Hour but took longer because I cleaned underneath really well and took my time.

Had to take front panel off dispenser area. Then remove components and install new part. That was easy part. Problem was getting components back into front of freezer. Seemed like something was blocking it from going all the way in. Had to remove small amount of insulation and "jiggle" components and eventually fell into place.

I removed the ice container with the auger inside. I removed the front panel, then the auger and housing. I had to clean all of the parts that had rust on them. I got some of the parts mixed up and was having a hard time putting them back where they belonged. I went back on the PartSelect web site and with my IPad and opened the exploded view of the parts. This enabled me to put the auger back together. It works perfectly now. Saved a lot of money by doing it myself. Thanks PartSelect.

I had read from your sight, to simply cut the lines at the reservoir and tape the new lines to the old. Then use the old lines to pull/feed the new lines to the coupler/valve. This worked great and greatly decreased the time it took to install. I spent more time moving out the frig and cleaning up all the dust (probably should do that more often)

Since my refrig is 18 yrs. old and I never had to replace it, took a little long to remove trim piece on the outside. After that repair went smoothly. I still have problem with water collecting inside on the bottom of the freezer, might have a leak somewhere. Ice maker is functioning correctly.

Removed the ice maker control panel and accessed the flapper door, easy switch out for new door and seal. The 2 year old warped seal didn't close and so ice crystals formed in the freezer - new unwarped part and Ta-Da no more problems :)

I watched the video on the PartSelect.com website and decided to give it a try. The replacement of the flapper was even easier than I anticipated! The old flapper was extremely warped and was allowing air into the freezer. I'm not sure how/why it was in that condition but I am happy to report that I have no more ice buildup. Googled how to replace the door seal, ordered parts and replaced the door seal flapper. The video on partselect was not correct for this GE model. However a simple diagran showed you simply remove the control panel directly (pops off) to provide access to the panel. Remove the 4 screws holding the panel, replace the door seal, and reassemble.

Watched the PartSelect video. Very simple and solved the problem. Very pleased with the repair and PartSelect.

Followed the video directions. Spent about 5 minutes and I was done. Very easy to do. Problem with frost is gone. The video makes it easy to remove the plastic parts without any damage.

Looked at the instructional video and read previous customer comments. Didn't have to dissassemble rear of freezer door. Access through the front once trim ring and circuit board removed. Could not have done it with out the video/and or previous customer comments. Part was shipped and received immediately. Repairs complete! No more frost developing and plugging ice chute! I especially appreciate the customer comments on how to complete this repair!

Replaced flapper, which was in surprisingly good condition. Major part of repair was removing a lot of mold incurred from long term seepage of room air into the ice channel. In the process of the repair, I discovered that the solenoid to the right of the flapper was hanging up badly. I removed it and cleaned both the plunger and the interior cone of the solenoid with alcohol. This removed quite a bit of rust and some mold. Reinstalled solenoid, replaced flapper and it works just fine. May need to replace solenoid if problem recurs. Certainly worth $37.00!
