Plastic wash cycle knob broke loose from threaded section.
Secured threaded shaft with long nose pliers, unscrewed broken section with fingers, then screwed on replacement knob. Washer works great. In order to remove broken threaded piece, one needs to secure the threaded shaft as it turns freely, just be careful not to damage threads with pliers in doing so. Bill in Houston, Texas

Replaced broken timer knob on washer
I unscrewed the remaining broken piece of the old timer knob with my hand that was still connected to the threads and screwed on the new timer knob with my hand until it stopped. I then tested it by pulling the timer knob in and out; then turning the knob to the right to check the rotation. Job done and I'm happy.

The timer knob completely broke off !!!
The repair was incredibly simple.. I used pliers to unscrew remaining piece on the control screw and screwed repalacement knob... Less than two minutes... My wife was hesitant for me ordering new part because it looked a tad different but I would say, it was pretty universal to the older model... DO NOT hesitate... Back to normal... Thank you so much....John
