Keep searches simple. Use keywords, e.g. "leaking", "pump", "broken" or "fit".
The bottom strip had become rusty and looking badly
I pulled the oven door off the hinges and took the bolts out of the bottom of the over that were holding the strip on. I then pulled the strip off and replaced it with the new on. I replaced the bolts and then replaced the door on the hinges.
Replace Oven light socket and light bulb in kitchen Range
1) Turn off power at circuit breaker panel 2) Slide out Range from wall 3) Unplug Range 4) Remove back panel and unplug electrical connections to socket 5) From front of oven, remove glass cover over old oven light bulb and remove flange that holds socket and bulb 6) Remove old socket from mounting flange and discard. 7) Place new socket into mounting flange 8) Screw mounting flange and new socket into the oven from front. Reattach electrical connections from back. 9) Screw in new light bulb from front 10) Replace existing glass cover over new light bulb and snap wire holder in place 11) Replace back panel 11) Plug in range 12) Slide range back to original position 13) Turn on power Works like a charm! Old infinite switch WB21X36771 broke...heating element stopped heating
1. Bought replacement part said to replace old switch. 2. Pulled old switch out. 3. Replacement part did not match. Would have to take entire switch panel apart to change to this part. 4. Multiple-part instructions very poor. For my switch unreadable. 5. Old part was "push to turn". New part was not. 6. Knob did not fit new switch. Old shaft was "D" shaped. New is square. 7. Gave up. Need to call repair shop. 8. Hope this helps.
The element on oven caught on fire and burned into.
took 2 screws out removed old element, put new element in and put the 2 screws back in. All worked great and I baked bread that same day. The service was fantastic, and $40.oo cheaper than the appliance store I checked with.
I went online to find the part. I also found a how-todo it self installation instructions. So, I thought I would try it. I pulled the stove out and unplugged it. It took me 2 days to try and remove the screws. They wouldn't budge. On the second day, I was about to give up. I tried to loosen the screws again. It finally moved!! So, I kept at it. Took me about 10 mins on the first screw. Then another 10 or 15 minutes on the second one. Once I took the screws off, I didn't know how to remove the wires. I kept picking at them for about 5 minutes, and it was easy then. Removed the old bake element. Then connected the new element wires, put the screws back in (not tight). Plugged it up and tested it. It worked!!!!!! I've never did anything like this before. If the screws wouldn't have been so hard to remove;it would have went a lot better.
I am a 62 y/o single female and was able to make this exchange of parts with ease. The toughest was getting the old terminal's wire clips free from years of gunk! I was pleased with the ease of installation and that it really worked afterwards. By the way, thank you Parts Select for getting this part to me very quickly. If a novice can diagnose, find the correct part and install it with success then anyone could do the same.
This is far to simple to even be a worthy story ,other than that the cause is a bit interesting. My wife had placed a plastic cutting board and some meat into the oven to get it away from my counter-cruising dog. Later, without remembering the cutting board she turned the oven on to "broil." Hmmmm...
Took Switch panel off range. Disconnected Infinite switch. Reinstalled infinite switch.. Replaced panel. Repair was very simple and self explainatory. Knott County Housing Authority Maintenance Personnel
Removed 4 screws holding the control panel removed the receptacle wires removed the screw holding the receptacle in place. Inserted the new receptacle screwed it in inserted the the wires to control knob. Screwed the control panel in place. Replaced 2 burners and 2 elements with in a half hour. Simple. Received the parts with in a few days. Will order from here for now on. Before we ordered looked for parts everywhere could not find them. Thanks
Because of the superb pics and descriptions on the Part Select site, I was able (with NO range model number) to order the correct range element for beloved son's stove. He plugged it in in 3 seconds, works great !
lower oven coil caught on fire and then wouldn't work (shock)
I removed the screws holding the element in place and pulled it out, then pulled the wires from the element out. Very easy. When I got the new part, it seemed like it would be simple. I plugged the new wires back in and started to push it in place to screw it in. Unfortunately, there was a big spark and everything died. I was afraid I had crossed the wires, and I'm still not sure how one is supposed to tell which wire plugs in to which holder in the oven. Luckily, I discovered that I had simply blown a fuse. Problem solved, everything works.
