Motor was burned out
I had put in a call for a service man, but our son-in-law assured me he could easily repair the ice maker if the proper part was available. Amazingly the part was identified on line, ordered and received within four days. When it arrived it took him less than half an hour to get it installed and working, and I saved the price of a service call. I would highly recommend PartSelect to anyone needing replacement parts.

quit making ice
We had to take the cover off, remove screws, take off old control and replace items in reverse order. We had the arm in the wrong position at first and it raised the arm and shut off. We redid the position of the arm and everything has been fine since.

Ice maker stopped making ice
Thought that this would be pretty much it for this unit considering it's age. I checked with some of the local repair shops, no one had the part. Did a google look up and partselect.com came up with it.
Ordered part and received it in 2 days. Removed complete ice unit from fridge by removing bottom holding screw and lifting up unit, disconnected power supply (actually you don't need to do this, you can replace in place). Removed old assembly off by removing 4 screws, lined up cam and installed motor unit just like the old one. Replaced complete unit back to fridge and hooked up power. Unit started making ice within the hour. I will usually always try to fix things before sending them to the dump, my effort in being green. I will come back to partselect in the future and will recommend to friends.

Ice maker simply stopped making ice
Watched a quick tutorial by Virtual Repairman and determined that my Ice Maker Control and Motor Assembly was most likely the root cause, as a matter of fact it was listed as the problem 63% of the time. I removed the Ice Maker as instructed , pulled the motor free and sure enough, I immediatley saw that the motor had shorted out. I ordered the assembly suggested for this model and when it arrived, (correct I might add)I immediatley installed it. Bled the system and within an hour or so the unit was making ice again.I have to admit though, I had my doubt's about the part showing up correctly, but they did. To sum it all up, when I need an appliance or electronic part, this is the first place I'm going to look.

Stopped making ice.
I followed the Partselect how-to video on how to relace the icemaker motor and voila,2 hrs later I had ice.The repair took 15 minutes probably saved me a $75.00 service call plus the mark-up on the part.I liked the the fact that Partselect puts the percentage of the probability besides each part picture and discription. Having no experience working on an icemaker, this was a great help in ordering the right part.If I recall, the motor assembly was the culprit 60% of the time. I'm really glad I stumbled onto this web site.PS. The part was ordered on a Sunday and arrived by FedEx on Thursday.

Cubes not pushing out during harvest mode
I first determined it was the motor and not the electronics which had failed a couple years ago. I watched the video posted on your site on how to do the repair, so didn't have to make the mistake of calling a repair person so they could take two weeks to do it, and charge four times what it cost me to do it myself. The part arrived in only two days from my order. The hardest part for me was waiting for the ice to thaw that had frozen the unit to the side of the freezer. Once out, it took all of 10 minutes to remove the three screws holding in the motor, and put the new one in. As soon as I hooked it back up, and turned on the water supply and power, it filled with water and in less than an hour, was harvesting ice again. Your site is a Godsend. I felt really good about myself after this was done... as did my wife!

Ice maker stopped making ice
I opened the front of the ice maker and saw that a piece of plastic was broken off. It was the piece that connected up to the ice ejector. Since it was broken, the motor would turn to eject the ice, but it could not drive the ejector. All I really need to replace was that small piece of plastic, but the individual pieces are not sold separate. I had to by the complete motor assembly, but it was much easier to replace the entire piece. Cost me about $60. A repair man would have charged that and much more.

Ice maker was no longer producing ice.
I'm by no means handy, but replacing the motor went surprisingly smooth. Using the enclosed instructions and an on-line video walkthrough made the repair easy. My wife now views me as an appliance wizard.

Stopped making ice.
Trouble shooted system and determined it to be Icemaker Control and Motor assembly. Removed and replaced assembly, but still would not make ice. Determined it to be the optics. Ordered Electronics Control Boards-Emitter and Receiver and removed and replaced both. Everything works now. Partsselect.com got my parts to me very quickly and their website helped me troubleshoot and select the correct parts.
