One of the hinges broke, making the door sagUsing the Torx Screwdriver, we removed the door from the unit. Then we removed all of the screws on the inside of the washer door. After that we flipped it over and opened it up exposing the inside. We couldn't separate them entirely because there was a screw under the latch piece that we couldn't figure out how to get to. However with all the screws out on the inside of the door, we did have enough room to open it up and access the place cover that holds the hinges in. Once we accessed that we removed the roller tips from the old unit and placed them on the new one. Then we reversed the process. With a couple screws in we realized we had put the hinge in reversed from what it needed to be, so we reopened it and switched it around. Then completed replacing all the screws and reattached it to the washer. It opens and closes perfectly and we saved a couple hundred dollars for sure, as the quote to come out had been a $150 trip charge. Read more...

The door cables broke and latch was warn to the point of being too looseThis model top can be popped off after removing the two screws under the lint filter. Once exposed remove the old cables and feed them through the hole on the front panel. Feed the springs through the ends of the cables and hook the other end into the dryer side panel slots towards the top on each side. Once both cables are fed, feed the opposite ends of the cables into the slots in the dryer door (after popping the white plastic covers out of them first). Put the white covers back into the slots to hold cables into doors. The door catch kit install is pretty obvious. Read more...

Manufacturer Part Number 00491647This door hinge is designed for use with dryers. The door hinge supports the door and allows the door to swing open and closed with ease. The hinge is made of metal, and it is easy to install, you will need a screwdriver. While holding the door, remove the four screws found on the cover plate of the door, this will allow you to remove the door from your appliance and access the hinge. Once the door is removed make sure you save the plastic bushings from the original hinge. You will then remove the two larger screws on the hinge, then slide the hinge straight up, and pull it out of the appliance. Place the plastic bushings on the new hinge, attach the hinge to the dryer, and reinstall the door.
