One of the hinges broke, making the door sag
Using the Torx Screwdriver, we removed the door from the unit. Then we removed all of the screws on the inside of the washer door. After that we flipped it over and opened it up exposing the inside. We couldn't separate them entirely because there was a screw under the latch piece that we couldn't figure out how to get to. However with all the screws out on the inside of the door, we did have enough room to open it up and access the place cover that holds the hinges in. Once we accessed that we removed the roller tips from the old unit and placed them on the new one. Then we reversed the process. With a couple screws in we realized we had put the hinge in reversed from what it needed to be, so we reopened it and switched it around. Then completed replacing all the screws and reattached it to the washer. It opens and closes perfectly and we saved a couple hundred dollars for sure, as the quote to come out had been a $150 trip charge. Read more...

Dryer door hinge broke.
Followed YouTube video repair process. The only problem is that the door hinge has plastic bushings attached. A couple broke and the parts listing does not show the bushings, nor does the hinge come with them. The door is a bit loose without them. Nonetheless, the repair did the job for now. Read more...

Door would not stay shut
Simply took door off, four screws. Laid on table top and removed several other screws to get to the inside. Removed latch and replaced. Replaced srews and put door back on. I'm sure I saved us a bunch on a service call. Oh did I mention I'm a mom with a 2 and a 4 year old running around while I did this repair. Back in business now. Read more...

Dryer door hinge broken
Opening the dryer door on the vertical axis rather than the horizontal axis, I unscrewed the three obvious screws. These screws are clearly visible when viewed from eye level. The broken hinge came off in two pieces, but presented no difficulty. I inspected the area around the hinge for auxiliary damage. There was none, but I did notice a wisp of cotton candy stuck in the lint trap. This was odd as I had not had cotton candy of any kind in my home or near my dryer ever. I did hear the faint sound of calliope music-I assumed this to be from an ice cream van that frequents the neighborhood-but failed to detect the tell-tale doppler effect of a moving vehicle. Disturbed, but determined to finish my task I removed the new part from the packaging and checked the fit. It fit perfectly. NOTE: Retain the screws from the hinge you remove, as the replacement hinge does not come with screws. I looked down to where my screws lay and saw the bulbous oversized toe of large red shoe. There was a star on the tip, painted in blue and yellow. I looked up from the shoe to see it attached to an ankle with a frilled cuff and up from there a baggy pair of pantaloons. At this point I realized that circuses now being illegal in this country, I clearly had a rogue clown on my hands. Sitting as I was I was not able to quickly get up, and in the confines of my washroom I had nowhere to run anyway. I had to think fast. I could smell the stale popcorn on the clown's breath as he leaned over, I reached for anything I could, grabbing up a pet cleaning vacuum hose. The clown just snorted and said, "You want a Phillip's head for that." The clown was right, of course. I installed the screws, checked that the door worked, and then the clown and I went for churros. This door hinge is designed for use with dryers. The door hinge supports the door and allows the door to swing open and closed with ease. The hinge is made of metal, and it is easy to install, you will need a screwdriver. While holding the door, remove the four screws found on the cover plate of the door, this will allow you to remove the door from your appliance and access the hinge. Once the door is removed make sure you save the plastic bushings from the original hinge. You will then remove the two larger screws on the hinge, then slide the hinge straight up, and pull it out of the appliance. Place the plastic bushings on the new hinge, attach the hinge to the dryer, and reinstall the door.

Top of door hinge arm broke.
Remove 4 screws on plastic cover of hinge that connects to the door. An assistant will come in handy at this point to hold the door. Then remove 2 screws holding hinge. Push up on hinge and pull out to remove hinge bracket. Hinge pins has plastic covers that need to be in place before attaching to the door. A small amount of vaseline will hold them in place. spin cycle did not activate
Replaced hinge switch. Still no spin cycle. Noticed hinge bearing cracked & if hinge forced into switch, spin activated. Ordered new hinge bearings.Spin cycle still didn't engage. On further examination, observed that hinge was bent. Straightened hinge & worked like a charm. Didn't really need new switch or bearings. NOTE : Avoid having washer door bang shut.Took longer than expected, but each procedure was simple. Read more...
