I broke the housing for my water filter, by twisting the old filter to remove it. Now, the new filter and by-pass plug both fall out. Is this the part i need, and if so, how can i install it?

The filters water filters I ordered (3), RPWFE did not fit my refrigerator. The filter matched the old filter except for the nozzle configuration on the end that insert into the water supply opening. I tried to insert the filter, but I couldn’t get it to fit. As a result, it damaged the filter housing where the filter connects to the water supply. Now I need new filters and a new water supply housing. How do I do that and not get changed for the new replacement filters and the water supply housing?

Hello William, thank you for your inquiry. According to our research, the water filter, part number PS10063209, and water filter housing, part number PS11736926, are compatible with your model. The instructions for replacing the water filter are as follows:
1. Remove the old cartridge by opening the filter door and pulling on the bottom of the cartridge to allow it to swing outward. When the cartridge can no longer swing, gently pull it to unseat it from the cartridge holder. Do not twist the cartridge.
2. Align the top of the filter cartridge with the cartridge holder with the word "FRONT" facing outward, then push the cartridge towards the rear of the unit until it is fully seated.
3. While continuing to ensure the cartridge is fully seated in the holder, gently swing the filter inward until it is in position. If the filter will not swing easily, check to ensure the filter is properly aligned and fully seated within the cartridge holder. Close the filter door.
4. Run two gallons of water through the cold water dispenser (about 5 minutes) to remove air from the system. A newly installed filter cartridge will cause water to spurt from the dispenser. Use a large pitcher or sports bottle to catch the water spray.
