Paint Sprayer O-ring This O-ring, also known as a gasket, is a genuine OEM replacement part designed for use in air sprayers. It is a rubber seal with a diameter of approximately 1.5 inches, that sits between the pump and filter to prevent air and paint leakage between the two mating parts. If the ring is lost, worn out, damaged, or has lost elasticity, it will need to be replaced. A faulty O-ring will result in issues such as leaking, low pressure, inconsistent spray patterns, and friction damage between the filter and pump. To replace the O-ring, open the sprayer housing and twist the pump off. Carefully pry the old O-ring off and clean the mounting area to ensure a good seal for the new ring. Place the O-ring over the filter and apply light pressure until it is flat against the surface. Reassemble the equipment to complete your repair.
