Replacing a Timer Module
Great part, easy to install and worked great when I switched knobs from another knob on the dryer. The real issue may have been a small hairline crack in the original knob that slipped when turned. The new timer works with another knob (without a crack). The question in my mind is "Was it the cracked knob or bad timer"? I can find out by replacing the old timer with the "Good" knob. I watched how to do the repair on YouTube prior to ordering the parts. The video seemed simple enough so I ordered the parts and followed along with the YouTube video. My new push to start switch did not work properly, still had to rest a heavy object against it to get the dryer going and my timer knob worked for a full cycle and a half

Broken timer
Remove screws from back top section, twist out old timer and twist new one in place. Replace cords one at a time so you get correct position. Replace backplate and push knob onto new timer shaft . Congrats your done and saved about 200 bucks !

Removed dial from front panel I unscrewed the back panel, which released the knob panel on the front and tipped that forward to access the timer device. took back off dryer, removed one screw with Torx wrench securing timer, removed one wire at a time from old timer placing on new timer to ensure correct wiring, put timer back in place tightening the one screw to secure. Timer mechanism on Dryer was dead
I followed a YouTube video demonstration, which explained how to open the Dryer console, disconnect eight different wire from the old, malfunctioning timer mechanism, remove the old timer, and install the new timer, reconnecting all of the wires to terminals on the new timer.
Dryer began shutting off before timer had come to the "off" position.
I first removed the the timer knob and the other ones from the front of the control panel. Then I removed the three screws that held the rear access to the control panel. Disconnected all wires to the timer keeping written info to which wires went to which terminal. The replacement timer was exactly like the original in the placement a

The picture of the replacement timer is not identical to the timer in my dryer. It has an extra terminal which i would not be using.

I recieved the new timer, however, the new timer only has 5 connections the old timer has 7 connections. I have been told that you don't need all 7 connections. Okay, so what do you do with the extra wires? Can I get an updated wiring diagram? Need some guidance on what to do.

Is it possible to replace just the rotary start switch on this timer?

Thank you for your question. The timer does not come in different parts unfortunately but a rotary start switch is generally a different part from the timer entirely.
