This is a genuine replacement 40 watt bulb for a microwave. The bulb is meant to light up the underside of the microwave or inside of your microwave when the door is open or during use. If your bulb is not illuminating, you may need to replace it. If the bulb is shattered, be sure to use protective gloves during replacement. Always unplug your microwave before completing any repairs. We suggest ordering a spare, as this is a common wear part.

The light under the microwave does not work. I unscrewed the 2 glass panels and tried to unscrew the small bulbs as instructed. Unfortunately, only the glass part of the bulb came out. How do i remove the base of the bulb in the casing ??
Hi Ineke, the entire bulb should have come out as normal. Perhaps you could grab the base with plies to unthread the base? Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!

The lamps underneath the outside to light up underneath are burnt out. It looks like they melted. How do i replace?
For model number PVM9005FJ2SS
Hello Linda, Thank you for contacting us. I show the correct part number as PS8767095. Depending on the degree of melting that took place, you should also check the light bulb socket in case that needs to be replaced as well. That is part number PS8753748. To chance these parts you will simply need to remove the screws holding the glass cover for the light bulb as well as the socket if applicable. You will then turn the bulb counter clockwise to remove, and clockwise to replace. Good luck with your repair! Have a great day.

replaced the 40w bulb underside of microwave. It lights up however when pressing the light pad twice for the nite lite to go on, nothing lights up. Only the first light works
For model number JVM3160DF5BB
Hello Dolores, thank you for reaching out. Based on our research, the issue is most likely with the control board. The microwave control board controls the power and voltage of the cooktop lamps; that is how the intensity is controlled. On the low or night setting, one relay closes and supplies the power to the bulbs. On the high setting, both relays close and supply power to the bulbs. The increase in voltage causes the light to intensify. Replacing the control board, part number PS12296298, will solve the issue. We hope this is what you were looking for!
Both light are out that lights cook top and the light is out inside microwave and the vent fan does not come on when i press once display shows low then twice display show hi but does not come on. The microwave is working and the turntable does work. What is wrong?
For model number JVM3160DF3WW
Hello Lorena, thank you for your question. You will need to check the door switches, the fuse, the light socket and door latch assembly. The light switch and vent fan switch is a part of the board, where you push for the different settings (hi, low, off). You might also want to check the wiring harnesses inside the oven cavity. I hope this helps!

Is there an energy efficient replacement for this bulb?
For model number JVM3160DF4BB
Hello M,
Thanks for your question. The only bulb offered for this model is part number PS8767095. Your microwave's internal parts can contain electrical charges even when the microwave is unplugged, so you will want a licensed technician to install this part.
I hope this helps.

Light bulb went out on my microwave/ventahood. It's the bulb under the microwave that lights up the cooktop area.
Using a screwdriver, removed the cover, pulled out the bad bulb, and easily put in the new one.

Microwave light bulb
The part was fine upon arrival. However I have to say I have never bought such an expensive light bulb. If it was gold plated, I would understand. Why so expensive?

Easy to install
Hope it lasts longer than the ones that came with the original purchase of the microwave. Way too expensive for the bulbs. Even though it was shipped in a timely manner I had hoped I could have found them at a local hardware or specialty bulb store.

Authentic Part
I ordered these bulbs because I kept buying similar bulbs and they keep failing. I wanted to know if the original bulbs would last longer. So far, they seem to be working well. They were overpriced (imo) but I paid for them because I wanted to understand what was making the other replacement bulbs fail so quickly. On a side note, the light bulbs came quickly and they were packed with great care. There was no breakage at all! Thanks, Part Select!
