I broke a piece when trying to change the water filter. Now filter does not lock in and if i leave it in the water leaks inside the unit. Also now the ice maker is not working. Thank you

Thank you for your question. The part you broke was that on the filter itself or the housing it goes into. If the ice maker is not making ice, the problem with water filter maybe causing the issue, but I would also check the temperature sensor and the ice maker itself. I hope this helps. I'm looking for the part that you plug the water filter into inside the refrigerator. The part is broken because someone inserted a new water filter and twisted it.
