Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This mullion spring is designed for French-door refrigerators to provide tension and stability to the door flap that seals the space between the two doors. Its clockwise winding ensures proper alignment and secure closure, helping maintain a tight seal and consistent internal temperatures. If the mullion is not closing correctly or you're noticing frost buildup near the dispenser, replacing the spring may restore proper function. Always unplug the appliance before installation.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

Refrigerator spring
I ordered two of these springs along with some other parts. When I went to install it it was the incorrect item even though your website said it was the correct one. I call customer service and when they check they informed me that other people had complained about it being the wrong spring. They checked and found another spring that I was told would fit. When it arrived I noticed that it was a thinner spring but it would fit. I installed it and it does work. I am just a little concerned that it being thinner it might not last as long as the original. I was credited for the price of the first springs, but I did have to pay a second shipping charge. If I was told that other people had said the spring was incorrect it should not still be sold as the correct one. Thank you.

The original spring in the mullion door broke
I disconnected the refrigerator power, removed the 2 screws holding the mullion door on the left side of the refrigerator French-door (it’s the flap that allows the door to close). Removed the broken spring and installed the replacement spring in its place. Reinstalled the mullion door by putting it in place and installing the previously

I actually took a picture of the correct spring installation at a big box store that carried LG. I had called LG, but they said they didn't have any installation brochures, and to call a registered LG repairman. That was out of the question, since the repairman would charge $100 just to show up.
I looked at the picture I took. Used needle nose pliers and inserted one end. Unless the lady of the house is very strong, this should be handled by a man, because of the rigid spring. Once the spring was inserted into one side of the flap, I used the pliers to get the other end into the proper slot. Very easy, but the spring is very

Having problems installing spring mhy62044106 on door need instructions.
For model number LFX28978ST/00
Hi Art, thank you for your question. First you will have to unscrew the screws holding your mullion in place. Then there are three covers on your mullion at the bottom, middle, and top. You will have to pop those off using a flat head screw driver. Once you have done that you slide your mullion upward enough to install the new spring into place. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My Kenmore Elite refrigerator has a broken spring on the left French door flapper (mullion). Do you have a replacement spring? If so, what is the part #? Thank you,
For model number 79571073011
Hello Sonia, thank you for reaching out. According to our research, the spring does not come separately. It comes with the flipper assembly, part number PS12374439. You may need to replace the complete flapper assembly. Glad to be of help!
Does door mullion spring part # ps6012670 fit the above model # LG refrigerator? I have ordered several springs and have yet to find the correct one.
For model number LFX25976SW
Hi David, thank you for your question. It looks like according to your model number information that spring is only offered with your actual mullion, which might be why the parts you are finding are not working. Here is that part number: PS5574505. Good luck with your repair.

Will this fit? Had a mhy62044103 but it wound the wrong way.
For model number Lfx25974st
Hello Del, thank you for writing. The spring option depends on the complete model number. You had provided the first part of the model Lfx25974st, but there should be a second part such as (ASTCNA1) or a number such as (04). Once you have located the model number, please feel free to resubmit the question and we will be happy to help you. We are looking forward to hearing from you!

Good Morning...Need a flapper door spring for my model.
My model is LFX25778ST not SB
Is it MHY62044103? Or MHY62044106?
Thanks
For model number LFX25778SB
Hello Ken, thank you for reaching out. The spring that holds the flapper closed is only included as part of the door mullion assembly, part number PS4129907, itself. We hope this helps. Glad to be of help!
After the doors are closed the right door opens slightly.
For model number LFXS27466S
Hello Neal, thank you for getting in touch. If the right door of your refrigerator is opening slightly after being closed, it could be due to a few common issues:
1. Obstruction: Check if there is any obstruction preventing the door from closing properly. Items inside the refrigerator might be sticking out or the shelves might be improperly positioned.
2. Leveling: Ensure that the refrigerator is level. If it is not, the doors might not align properly, causing them to open. Adjust the leveling feet if needed.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, then you may need to replace the door gasket, part number PS11708221, to solve the problem. Glad to be of help!
