Ordered part # 218859701 from parts select. Easy process. Showed right up on their website. The fitting from the water source to the valve was the same size. No water to dispenser or ice cube maker
Since I didn't have any water to both dispenser or cube maker, I assumed I needed the Double Solenoid Water Valve. I replaced the solenoid which took very little skill (I have Parkinsons Disese) and had no trouble with the replacement.
All went welll and now I have watr and ice and a quarter of the pric eof having a tech come out. QED (Quad erat demastratum) Quite easily done

Water Leak
original was 1/4 and new one is 3/8, I had to buy another adapter to fit 3/8 but that didn't fit too well either, I eventually had to wrap with tapes around the hose so it would be tighter, at least it's not leaking anymore.
water leak at valve, no ice, no water thnbrough the door
The repair would have been very easy, however, the replacement valve had a change to the outlet size from 5/16" to 1/4". I had to build a reducer coupling (brass). I have been searching for a quick connect poly reducing union that is leak free. I had to order one as it is not a standard item at Home Depot, Lowes, etc. As we stand now
... Read more, I have ice cubes and cold water through the door. Found a crack in the 5/16" original line at the connection. Cut that section away and put the coupling in. Had to really tighten up on the brass fitting to stop any minor leaks. It has been leak free for 4 days, but I will still put the quick connect part in when it arrives. BTW Parts Select does not stock the quick connect reducing union.

Ice maker was not working.
I checked all areas such as water flow in the door and to see if any of the lines from the water valve was clogged. After finding that the lines were clear and the water flow was good through the door. I also checked the Ice maker to make sure it was going through its cycles. I also noticed the valve was making a loud noise when it would
... Read more try to put water in the Ice maker. I did check the line to the Ice maker inside the refrigerator to see if the water had frozen in the tube. I removed the two screws that hold in the valve and reconnected the water line and the line heading to the lce maker and now my Ice maker is fully functional and making ice like always. The repair was easy and anyone could do it. Also remember to unplug appliances when you work on them, just a safety reminder.

I have a leak coming from under the front of the refrigerator, took the floor guard off, i found water running down a tube that has a connector to it. Is there a problem with the water intake valve.The change filter light is on, and the water flow is slow.I have Frigidaire pure water and filtration system. The ice maker is making ice. Hello Alphonso, thank you for your question. It sounds like you may have a small break or hole in the water line itself. I would recommend changing the water tube itself before replacing the valve, unless the water is coming directly from the water valve itself. I hope this helps!

Ice make leaks causing ice tray to ice up and ice to turn into bergs! I've replaced both solenoids, dual and single and still have ice maker leaking. Any ideas that might help?

Hello Ric, thank you for your question. It sounds like maybe the icemaker is drawing too much water. If the water valve has been replaced and you're still getting too much water to the icemaker, the icemaker itself will probably have to be replaced. I hope this helps!
