Defrost Heater with Harness and Thermostat WR51X10029

Previous owner bought in 2001 fm department store..paid 1200 bucks for it (left us paperwork and rcpt) so thought it was worth trying the repair. Defrost with thermostat and timer. $140... Very easy install, exact fit. About 25 min after cleaning out fridge/freezer. Thanks for the videos on your website. Although you can find anything you want on YouTube these days, nice to have it where you are buying.

I didn't have any issues in replacing the part. The part looked and fit just like the old one which is not always the case when replacing parts on older appliances. So far the repair has been successful. No issues with the coils frosting up like before. This site was very helpful with the information especially the success percentages given for resolving the issue with the parts suggested to fix the problem. If need be, I'll use it again.

The Defrost heater arrived quickly and worked as described. Replacement requires unplugging the refrigerator and removing all the shelves and the bottom screws of the shelve tracks on the side walls of the freezer. Two screws hold the back plate in place. The coils were frozen solid so it took a while to defrost before the back plate could be removed. At that point the heater simply plugs into the cable harness and two screws hold the heat lamp in place. Replacement is very easy, but I wish I had found an instruction video to guide me. This is the second time I have replaced the defrost heater in fifteen years.
