Hello Becky, thank you for your question. This is a very easy repair. The button is a small rubber piece that has a lip around the edge. The easiest way to replace this is to use pliers to grip and remove old button cover, then use a small screwdriver to push around the edge of new cover. Be careful not to push too far into the hole as there are electronic boards behind that button and in the control panel. I hope this helps!

Hello Ron, thank you for contacting us. This could be a few different things. If your washer won't fill, check the hot and cold faucets to make sure they're both turned on fully. GE washers require water pressure between 10 and 120 pounds per square inch. Check the fill hoses, which connect to the upper back left of most GE washers, and make sure the line has no kinks. If the problem persists, turn off the water and remove the fill hoses. Check the filter screen inside the hoses, and clean them with a brush or toothpick if needed. Also, an improperly closed lid is a common problem that prevents the washing cycle from starting or completing, so always make sure you close the lid to your GE washer tightly. Mechanical GE models have a lid switch probe -- a small piece of plastic that fits into a hole under the lid; if this is knocked out, the machine won't start once the lid is closed. Hope this helps!

Hi Ardis, thank you for your question. There are a number of parts that could cause the issue. First you should take a look at your lid switch. That part will not allow the appliance to start normally if it believes that the lid is open. If that part is fine however, then the issue might actually be in your control board itself. Hello John, thank you for your question. We would recommend testing the following parts to determine what the issue is. The parts are - Interlock Switch Part Number: WD21X10261, High Limit Thermostat - L315-65 Part Number: WE4M137, Inlet Control Thermostat Part Number: WE4M398 and Safety Thermostat Part Number: WE4M160. If these parts are tested and are functioning correctly the issue could be the electronic board or motor. The start switch is part of the electronic control board.

Hello Doretha, Thanks for your question. You will want to first check the lid switch assembly, part number PS1482372, for continuity by using a multi-meter. If it does not test properly, replace it. Next, try testing the water inlet valve, part number PS1155105, for continuity and replace it if it does not show any. Lastly, consider replacing the control board (part number PS2351829) if both the water inlet valve and lid switch are testing properly. I hope this helps.
