All lights work. Pushing start button will not turn on washer. I've been having to push much harder recently....is it the button or the switch on the circuit board?
For model number WCSE4160B2WW
Hi Corey, Thank you for your question. I would suggest checking the door switch to see if it is working correctly. If it is alright, then you may need to replaced your control board. The button is just a small rubber piece. I hope this helps. Good luck with your repair.

Top loaser washer, at times, i have to press the start button a few times for the cycle to begin. What would be the cause of this?
For model number GTWN4250D
Hello Ro, Thank you for the question. This sounds like the switch behind the push button is defective. The switch is made as part of the Electronic Control Board, PartSelect Number PS8757105. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!

How is "start/stop" button removed and replaced?
For model number WJSE4150B1WW
Hello Becky, thank you for your question. This is a very easy repair. The button is a small rubber piece that has a lip around the edge. The easiest way to replace this is to use pliers to grip and remove old button cover, then use a small screwdriver to push around the edge of new cover. Be careful not to push too far into the hole as there are electronic boards behind that button and in the control panel. I hope this helps!

Washer will not start when i press the start button. Took it apart and it still will not work when mechanism depressed. Please advise.
For model number WJRE5550K2WW
Hi Ardis, thank you for your question. There are a number of parts that could cause the issue. First you should take a look at your lid switch. That part will not allow the appliance to start normally if it believes that the lid is open. If that part is fine however, then the issue might actually be in your control board itself. Good luck with your repair.

When i push start button, it starts and then stops, if i push another time it will sometime start. Sometimes it stops with first push but often does not. What part do i need? Thanks.
For model number GTWN4250D1WS
HI Brenda, thank you for your question. You should take a look at your lid switch being the issue. If it is not then the issue is likely in your control board. Good luck with your repair.

This is a GE front load dryer and when it's started for the first time today the push to start button lights up and works fine sometimes you can do this multiple times and it's ok if it runs approx.5 mins we open the door check the clothes and close the door push the button it won't start do this about 5 20 times and it will start,is it my push to start switch that is defective??
For model number DBVH52OEJ2WW
Hello John, thank you for your question. We would recommend testing the following parts to determine what the issue is. The parts are - Interlock Switch Part Number: WD21X10261, High Limit Thermostat - L315-65 Part Number: WE4M137, Inlet Control Thermostat Part Number: WE4M398 and Safety Thermostat Part Number: WE4M160. If these parts are tested and are functioning correctly the issue could be the electronic board or motor. The start switch is part of the electronic control board.

Hi this is john again about the GE front load dryer, I forgot to mention one other thing when it don't want to start while depressing the start button I hear a clicking sound, I'm sorry I forgot to mention that and once again thank you.
For model number DBVH520EJ2WW
Hello John, Thank you for the information. We still suggest testing the same parts, but this does point more towards a defective motor. Hope this helps!

Will not start or fill up with water could you wire across start switch to check it?
For model number gtwn4950lows
Hello Ron, thank you for contacting us. This could be a few different things. If your washer won't fill, check the hot and cold faucets to make sure they're both turned on fully. GE washers require water pressure between 10 and 120 pounds per square inch. Check the fill hoses, which connect to the upper back left of most GE washers, and make sure the line has no kinks. If the problem persists, turn off the water and remove the fill hoses. Check the filter screen inside the hoses, and clean them with a brush or toothpick if needed. Also, an improperly closed lid is a common problem that prevents the washing cycle from starting or completing, so always make sure you close the lid to your GE washer tightly. Mechanical GE models have a lid switch probe -- a small piece of plastic that fits into a hole under the lid; if this is knocked out, the machine won't start once the lid is closed. Hope this helps!

The timing seems off when I start the machine, it starts to fill and then stops. Sometimes it fills and gets to the wash cycle then stops. I have to keep pushing start button to get through all the cycles. If that does not work I have to drain and spin, then start the cycle over again. Any suggestions?
For model number WJRE5500G1WW
Hello Doretha, Thanks for your question. You will want to first check the lid switch assembly, part number PS1482372, for continuity by using a multi-meter. If it does not test properly, replace it. Next, try testing the water inlet valve, part number PS1155105, for continuity and replace it if it does not show any. Lastly, consider replacing the control board (part number PS2351829) if both the water inlet valve and lid switch are testing properly. I hope this helps.
