Freezer door opens when refrigerator door closes. Will this gasket prevent this from happening?
For model number GTH18XCT2RWW
Hi Jeff,
Thank you for your question. If your freezer door is opening when you close the refrigerator door, The freezer door gasket should fix this issue. I would also check the hinges and pins to see if they are not worn out as well. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Replace the door gasket on the freezer door of my top-freezer refrigerator
Removed the door by removing the two screws holding it on. Do not try to do this repair with the door attached. Easily removed the old gasket. Getting the new one on the door was EXTREMELY difficult. I couldn't do it. After 90 minutes, I gave up and called my appliance repairman. When he arrived, he and I worked together to get the new gasket on the door. It took 2 sets of hands to do this. It still took us about 40 minutes. My repairman had a few choice words about the design of the system holding the gasket on the door. Ditto for me. So the cost of my repair was doubled because I had to pay the repairman to help me attach the new gasket. I should have just bought a new fridge.

Freezer door gasket was torn and loose.
Unplugged refrigerator.Checked that new gasket was the right size for freezer.Opened freezer door and lifted inside edge to access screw's. Loosened top screw's and screw's half way down each side and pulled gasket out. Installed new gasket into slot where old gasket was and tightened screw's across top and the first couple down side's.Lifted edge of old gasket and loosened screw's holding remainder of old gasket in place and finished removing old gasket.Finished putting new gasket in slot and tightened remaining screw's. The reason for only doing gasket half at a time is to keep the door square and not getting out of shape. If new gasket is warped when removed from shiping box run under hot water or soak in hot water until more flexible.

Far From Easy
The gasket arrived quickly and looked like an exact match. After fighting for (2) hours on the installation I thought I must be doing something wrong. I watched a bunch of YouTube videos that mad it look as easy as I thought it should be. I gave up after another hour and bought a new fridge. Good Luck!!!!

Easy Repair, Part was exact what I needed!
They ship this part in a stiff frame which makes it very easy to install; you won't necessarily have to soak it in warm water to complete the repair. The part was sent quickly and arrived in great condition.

Perfect fit!
The gasket is very easy to replace. Gently pry off the the old, usually a corner or edge and peel away almost like a sticker. Then line up the strip with the channel on the door a press into place making sure the seal is set all the way around. Close the door and check for gaps.
