Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). This is a genuine manufacturer approved replacement drive shaft that is designed for string trimmers. Flexible drive shaft fits inside the drive shaft housing to spin the cutting head. It is made out of metal and it is sold individually. To complete this repair you would need a screwdriver and pliers. Removing the Drive Shaft: • Loosen the shaft screws. • Remove the air filter. • Remove the throttle cable. • Remove the ignition wires. • Remove the shaft housing. • Remove the drive shaft. Installing the New Drive Shaft: • Lubricate the drive shaft. • Install the new drive shaft. • Re-install the shaft housing. • Re-install the throttle cable and ignition wires. • Re-install the air filter assembly.

On my trimmer the Flex drive shaft is 2 parts which slides in a hollow tube. The upper Flex shaft twisted off. The bottom Flex shaft is ok. The diagram shows only 1 Flex shaft and calls it the lower drive shaft. The lower shaft is 30 inches long and the upper shaft is 26 inches long. I only need the upper shaft. What will i get if i order the drive shaft shown in the diagram?

Hi James,
Thank you for your inquiry. The upper drive shaft assembly, part number PS10009076, includes the metal housing and the flexible metal shaft that drives the unit. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Hello Valerie, Thank you for contacting us. I have researched the model you have provided and have found the part you are looking for is PartSelect Number PS11803833. I looked up the part and it is listed as No Longer Available/Discontinued. There is no part substitutions listed. My suggestion here would be to call the manufacturer and see if they can provide you with a substitution for these part numbers. Hope this helps!
Hello Craig, Thank you for your inquiry. We show that this part is just the housing and does not include the flexible drive shaft, part# 753-05267. Good luck with your repair.
