... Read morethe existing ice maker. Upon removal i noticed that the filler tube had frozen likely part of the cause of the leak. Remove the Filler tube where the water connection is located by prying with a putty knife. Remove the electrical harness and the lever arm that permits or turns off the ice maker. Install the harness and lever arm on the new ice maker. Install the new filler tube which i noticed was modified with 3 rectangular holes, from the original part, perhaps to prevent freezing up. ReInstall the water connection with the clip.Install the ice maker with the top 2 nuts loosely installed and hang the unit on the 2 nuts. Position the filler tube into the ice makeer. Reconnect the electric harness. Install the final nut at the bottom of the ice maker and securely fasten all 3 nuts. Turn the water back on and reinstall the ice maker tray, with the lever arm in the down ON position. Check for any leaks. Observe overnite to determine if ice is made and check for leaks. Reinstall the Freezer Door. While i was doing all this I also took off the bottom rear cover of the refrigerator fan motor, and removed all the dust and dirt and i also used a refrigerator coil brush to remove dust from the coils from the front of the unit.
The water supply line to the ice maker kept popping off after I replaced the water filter because an "ice plug" had formed in the fill tube, unbeknownst to me.
1. Turn your water OFF and pull the refrigerator out from the wall so you can access the back. 2. Use pliers to remove tubing clamp. 3. Remove old water fill tube. 4. I used a putty knife to gently pry out the old fill tube from the back of the refrigerator. Once the fill tube pulls out about 1/4 to 1/2", then you ca
... Read moren gently pull the remainder of the tube out by hand. Once I removed my "old" fill tube, that is when I saw the "ice plug" that was causing pressure in the water supply line and caused my water line to pop off. 5. Install new fill tube. The end that goes in first needs to go through a small "ring" inside the freezer (this "ring" is not encountered until the fill tube only has about one more inch to be inserted into the back of the refigerator. I could barely see this "ring" if I opened the freezer drawer and stuck my head in as far as I could. I had to gently rotate the new fill tube until it cleared the "ring". You will feel some resistance until it lines up properly. 6. Snugly push in the part that stays on the outside of the refrigerator until it looks like it is sealed. 7. Gently push up the water fill tube where it belongs in the new part and replace the tubing clamp. 8. Turn your water on and make sure there are no leaks (I left my refrigerator out for about an hour). 9. Push your refrigerator back in place.

existing fill tube was leaking where the water line connected.
I found the instructions on line which seemed very simple but I soon learned otherwise. The instructions say to remove the water line and then firmly pull the fill tube out as it is a tight fit. I couldn't get the tube out and ended up removing the lower freezer door/tray, the upper tray and the icemaker where I found the water had frozen
... Read more solid in the end of the tube. I used a hair dryer to melt the ice then I could easily remove the tube. After several attempts to install the new tube I finally inserted a 3/8" OD flex tube thru the passage then I was able to slide the new fill tube over this and get it in place. I then reinstalled the icemaker, upper tray and the door/tray assembly. Turned the water on the check for leaks then plugged the unit back in and all is working well.

The fill tube was freezing up after about 60 days of use.
Pulled the unit from the wall, and unplugged, and turned off the water. Removed the back plate at the bottom of the refrigerator to gain access to the water inlet valve. Disconnected three tubes and two electrical connections and reconnected to the new inlet valve. Reassembled the back plate. Then turned everything back on and checked f
... Read moreor leaks. Re-Installed the back plate. This was a fairly easy repair. The only problem I had was getting the water lines off the old valve. It was a bit of a struggle for me. I did watch a couple of you tube videos before I got started.
Cut old fill tube into pieces, removed and replaced with new tube. Extremely easy.

No ice in ice maker
Turn water and refrigerator off, use hair to thaw the ice maker filler tube, then remove the filler tube inside the freezer. Next remove the water supply line cover plate in back of the refrigerator. Now remove the speed clip at the white pvc elbow and pull out the supply line. Next, grasp the pvc elbow with pliers and pull hard to rem
... Read moreove. The new filler tube is a 1 piece design (filler tube and elbow combined) and needs to be cut to the proper length. Mark it inside the freezer, remove it and cut to length. Now coat the outside flange with caulk or PU glue and snap into the opening. Put the speed clip on the elbow first and center it. Ensure that the spreader insert is in place in the plastic tube, then slide the supply line into the elbow untill completely engaged. Replace cover.
Removed two screws that held cover plate. remove cover plate. Remove water hose, and clamp, by compressing clamp with pliers. Remove fill tube by pulling HARD, from back.
Replace fill tube, check to be sure that it entered ice maker properly. Replace hose and clamp. Replace cover and screws.

The drain pan under fridge is dry, every several days there is water everywhere from fridge. The drain pan is bone dry. Ty

Good Day Patricia. Thank you for your question in regards to your unit (Model Number GB2FHDXWQ01). Based on our research it is most likely blocked with ice. The first thing to do is to remove the ice maker and rear panel of the freezer to get a look. The best way to clear the ice is to just let it thaw out. You can remove the frozen food and put it in the refrigerator section. Turn the unit off and leave the freezer door open. The refrigerator section will act like an ice chest. As it thaws you should see water in the drain pan. Hope this helps. Best Regards.

The ice maker stopped making ice a few days ago. Does this model have a water filter.

Hello David, Thank you for the question. Checking the model number it is not showing it has a built in filter. Normally the water for this appliance would be filtered before it is sent to the appliance by an in-house water filtration system. We suggest checking the water lines to make sure they are not froze over and blocking water from passing through. If the lines are clear, you may have to replace the Ice Maker. We hope this helps!

The possible reasons behind this problem can be a clogged water filter, a damaged o-seal (part number: PS11747930) of the water filter, or a water inlet valve (part number: PS11738514). If you have changed the water filter recently you will need to drain all the water out to make sure there is no trapped air, also look for kinks in the water supply line.
