This is a spring designed to fit within the bit holder assembly of an impact driver, also known as an impact wrench. Positioned between the anvil and ring gear, this spring is accompanied by a washer and hog ring on each side to provide tension and maintain consistent pressure on the inserted bit within the holder. As a high-wear component, this spring will eventually wear out, resulting in a less secure grip on the bit by your driver and its hammer mechanism. This spring is equipped with a hook for secure attachment within the main housing. If the hook becomes damaged or misshapen, the entire spring will need replacement. To replace this spring, you will require a screwdriver and must partially disassemble the primary driver housing to access it.
