Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This genuine Whirlpool washer electronic control board is the central component that manages all washing machine operations. Acting as the appliance’s “brain,” it coordinates water filling, washing, draining, and spinning cycles based on user input and sensor feedback. The board sends precise signals to components such as the water inlet valves and drain pump, ensuring optimal performance and cycle timing. A malfunctioning control board can lead to issues like the washer not starting, cycles failing to advance, or improper washing functions. Installation requires disconnecting power, accessing the control panel, and replacing the board using the existing wiring connections. Always follow safety guidelines and consult your appliance manual for detailed instructions.

Will not start. How do i diagnose. The control board is over $350. I’m thinking it may be the start button.
For model number NTW4516FW2
Hello and thank you for writing.
We suggest to try a hard reset:
Go to your breaker box and shut the breakers for your unit off, wait 5 minutes and then turn the breaker to on again. That should hopefully clear this problem.
If this does not fix this problem then your door lock assembly PS12704713 might be faulty, you should check the part(s) for signs of damage or test with a multimeter, and replace the part(s) as needed. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.
There are no lights on my washer but it seems to be stuck in drain mode. Pump keeps running but it’s not lighting up
For model number NTW4516FW3
Hello Mary, thank you for contacting us. It sounds like your washer is in flood mode. You may need to reset the washer by unplugging it for 60 seconds and then plugging back. After resetting, give it 20 minutes to finish its flood mode sequence. The drain pump will continue to run until the sequence is finished. Once it is done, the drain pump will shut off and you can use the washer like normal. If the issue persists, then you may need to check the control board, part number PS12348137, to solve the problem. We hope this helps.

Will a bad control board make both switches for water level and temp not function properly?
For model number Ntw4516FW3
Hello Ricky, thank you for contacting us. Yes, a faulty control board can prevent both the water level and temperature switches from functioning properly, as the control board is responsible for interpreting signals from these sensors and initiating the appropriate actions. We hope this information helps!
