I think the tub bearings are going out. Washer sounds like it’s going to take off during spin cycle. Do I have to replace the outer tub or can I get just the bearings?
For model number FFTW4120SW1
Hi Jonathan,
Thank you for your question. The bearing would be part of the clutch body, part number PS12585163. If you hear a grinding noise during the spin cycle, then the issue is likely a worn or damaged bearing and and the clutch body will need to be replaced. Also if the drive pulley, part number PS12585161, on the motor is broken, it may make a noise and you will need to check it to see if it is damaged. We hope this helps!
Just bought a replacement agitator and attached it to the original motor, I still get a cranking noise off and on during the wash cycle but not the spin cycle. Do I need the motor to go with it.
For model number FFTW4120SW1
Hi Ed, thank you for reaching out. Yes, the issue could be with the drive motor, part number PS12176480. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this sorts out your problem!
