Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This door spring is a genuine OEM replacement part for your dishwasher. The spring ensures that your dishwasher door does not fall open too quickly. If this occurs, one or both springs should be replaced. This part consists of one spring. To replace the spring, you will need to pull the dishwasher about six inches to a foot out from the cabinet. Replacing the spring has been rated as an easy repair by our customers.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

The part ordered was new and arrived within a reasonable time. Definitely would order from PartSelect again. I've been using PartSelect for years now.

Exact Fit
The spring was an exact replacement of the broken spring. I replaced both springs just on general principles. I figured that if one broke, the other would probably be on its last leg too. The dish washer now has a new lease on life. Parts came quickly too.

Easy Repair...works GREAT!
I was so happy to get the springs for the door of my dishwasher. They were so hard to find. Even Amana, which is the brand of my dishwasher, didn't have them. I'm back in business and so is my dishwasher. Thanks so much!

Easy repair of dishwasher door springs
The springs looked to be identical to the original ones. Although neither springs were broken, as assumed because the door fell open rapidly, the new springs were installed and hooked to the farthest slot on each side, so one has to push the door to get it to go all the way down.

Wish all repairs were this easy.
I ordered a new pair of door springs for my Maytag dishwasher. The springs were an exact match of what I needed, and it took very little time to replace them. Only one of my springs was broken, but I replaced them both because it is so easy. Now, I know it will be a long time before we have another spring break!

Dishes were not drying properly
Did the repair, but needed one extra step not described in video:
I followed the directions on the PartSelect Youtube video - very helpful! I do believe the heating element was the original culprit, as it had a "burn" area about the size of a dime that caused it to almost break into two parts. Obviously a point of failure.
... Read more> BUT - after replacement, it still did not solve the problem of the dishes not drying.
After much web searching, I tried the diagnostic mode on the dishwasher, and that did a hard reset of the logic board and FIXED the problem.
So in all, it required both a new heating element AND a hard reset via diagnostic mode.
