Surface Burner Valve - 16K - Left Front & Right Front Specifications
This is a surface burner valve for the left front and right front of your range. Burner valves are attached to the main gas line. When the switch is turned the gas then flows into a tube that mixes with air, creating the appropriate mixture for combustion. The valve monitors and controlsl the gas flow to the surface burner. It is roughly 3 inches long, 1.5 inches high, and about an inch wide. You should consider changing this part if your current one has seized and your range will not start.

Easy as pie
My biggest concern was pulling the stove out to turn off the gas. The fact that it's been in service 10 yrs, we had to do a bit of cleaning as well. The easy part was replacing the valve, and the videos were very helpful.

Exactly the right part and well defined instruction
I was able to fix my own burners - the two most used went within a week or so of each other. They probably just needed to be cleaned but when one just stayed on I used pliers to try to turn it off and bent it. Great experience.

Surface burner valve -- does the 16k or 5k or fish valve restrict the amount of gas to a certain burner?
For model number mgt8885xs00
Hello Dajuana, thank you for your question. Yes, there are different burner valves for the different burners. The valve part number WPW10206287 is the valve for the (LEFT & RIGHT REAR), WPW10206288 is the valve for the (LEFT & RIGHT FRONT), and WPW10298678 is for the center burner. The valves open and close to allow more or less gas to the burners. I hope this helps!

This is a Whirlpool 6.0 cu ft range that i purchased from sears outlet. It had been reconditioned. I cannot find the model number on the stove itself but this is the model number on the paperwork. Unfortunately, now i see there should be another number at the end ranging from 0 on up to 7. I need a gas burner valve for the left front burner which is a fast burner. I don't want to order the incorrect one but i see you have the same part number for the left and right on the model with 0 at the end (which i thought may be the right one since mine has no number at all on the invoice). I can see a number on the valve itself while it is still in place but i can't quite read it and i don't really want to dismantle before i have the part. Would the left and right valve be the same part if the left is a fast burner and the right is not? I assumed not but maybe i'm wrong. It is 6 cu ft, double oven with accubake system stainless steel and was sears item #61383, if that helps.
For model number WGG555SOBS
Hello Kathy, thank you for your question. The part number W10206287 is the (LEFT REAR) valve, the LEFT FRONT, RIGHT FRONT & RIGHT REAR is part number W10206288. I hope this helps!

You messaged me the info i asked about the surface burner valves but not sure why is it showing 3 different part name and numbers like, both front valves, 5k , and a fish valve. Will a Hotpoint or GE valves fit my Maytag, they look identical to it but much cheaper.
For model number mgt8885xs00
Hello Dajuana, thank you for your question. Hotpoint and GE parts will not work on your unit. You will have to order the parts that are listed for your specific unit and the burners they control. There are specific valves for specific burners. If you try to use a cheaper valve that is not listed as compatible with that burner you will have issues with the flame, amount of gas, etc. If you need a valve for the Left front, you have to order the Left front burner valve. If you need the fish valve (center valve) you have to order the valve that the manufacturer recommends. I hope this helps!

Will this burner valve be the correct replacement if one of the burners gets gas but does not trigger the ignitor?
For model number KGRS505XSS04
Hi Jenna,
Thank you for your question. If one of the burners is not lighting, this burner valve may help, but it sounds like you will need to replace the wiring harness, part number PS11750278. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
