What does the vent do? Does it work only for air drying? Wp8545533 replaces

Hello Linda, thank you for your question. The vent is opened and closed by a little wax motor during different cycles. It is not just used for air drying. Part number WP8545533 is the correct replacement for the Air Vent in your unit. Good luck with your repair!

Can the wax motor become noisy?

On a previous question you mention a blocked air vent causing a leak at the bottom of the door on the left side. Does my model have a vent and where would it be located? I've changed the door gasket, the lower door seal and the water inlet valve and still have the leak. Also how can the lower door seal be called a seal when there are two slots in it close to the ends?

Hi Warren,
Thank you for your question. The door vent or deflector for your dishwasher is located in the upper right corner of the door as you are facing it. The bottom door gasket for your dishwasher works with the door seal that goes along the top and sides the tub frame curving slightly at the bottom of the dishwasher to provide a tight seal when the door is closed.
