This is a door handle for the oven on your range. The handle fastens tightly to the oven door in order to allow the user to freely open and close the oven without coming into contact with the potentially hot surface of the door. Note that this is the handle only, for installation you will need to order the self-tapping screws separately. This model is roughly 30 inches long, and black with sliver trim.

handle on oven door broken on one side
once I figured out how to remove door it was a piece of cake for a 72 year old man.
The best I can say is to remove door. take screws out from the bottom and sides first. Clean all layers of glass before installing handle.

Upper oven door handle broke off on one side
The oven door comes off easily by opening to the first stop and lifting it straight off the hinge arms. I removed all of the small perimeter screws, removed the outer glass and the upper frame that the handle attaches to. Removed the broken handle and attached the replacement part. Re-assembled oven door and slid it back onto the hange ar

Replace Oven Door Handles
Be prepaired to take the glass out. Unexpected, but not too hard. A right angle screw driver can be helpful for the bottom door. Takes some skill and patience. Good Luck! I am happy with the parts. Delivery time was quick.
The plastic attachment on the oven door handle broke on one side, and of course the whole handle had to be replaced. I attempted first to super-glue the broken piece, but naturally, that didn't work. I found the necessary piece very easily thru PartSelect.com's web page, and had the replacement piece within a couple days. The most diff

I am interested in purchasing a new handle for the over and it states that you need to order self tapping screws. However when i put this to search, it came up not knowing what i meant.
For model number MER6555AAB
Hello Patricia, Thank you for your inquiry. The screws are part# 74011674, they are designed to cut their own thread in the plastic the first time they are installed. Hope this helps!

I ordered a door handle for my oven. There were no screws in the box, but the handle you sent has no threads in the handle. The screws we took out had a broken piece on threads of screw and looks like it broke off the handle. The place were the screw goes on the old handle has an metal insert with threads. The new handle has a plastic place to put the screws but has no threads. Is there something I can purchase to take care of this?
For model number MER6755AAB
Hello Judy,
Thank you for your questions.
It looks as though the manufacturer has updated the handle to no longer include the threaded metal insert. The new version of the part works by allowing the screw to cut its own thread in the plastic the first time it is installed.
Thank you for your question!
