Straightforward repair
I didn't know it had burned out or work out as the Dryer is 20+ years old. Fortunately because it is 20 years old and dryer is electro-mechanical is was straightforward in how to replace the part. I liked there was a tutorial. Plumbers in our area are frequently no-shows - so if homeowner can do the work so much the better.

Just the Part I Needed
After reviewing YouTube to troubleshoot the problem with my clothes dryer, I went to Easyappliance.com for the part. I was able to order the exact part I needed. The part matched, fit and worked perfectly, and I had the dryer working in less than 15 minutes.

Start switch stuck always closed
Control console is held on by two Phillips head screws; removed both, slid panel forward to disengage plastic guides on left and right ends. Tilted panel back to access internal parts. Switch is held in place by a locking arm at the "top" of the switch. Used screwdriver to apply pressure, release the lock, and rotate the switch body count

Mounted new switch and rotated until locked in place. Tilted panel upright, lined up end guides and slid back in place. Replaced the screws and plugged dryer back in.
Very easy, very quick.

Dryer would not start
This repair was very easy. After researching my problem of dryer not starting and watching videos about possible reasons, I ordered a Push to Start Switch and a Thermal Fuse ( 2 possible causes). Since the dryer is older, I decided to replace these two parts. I first unplugged the dryer from the wall socket. . I uninstalled the push to st
... Read moreart switch by unscrewing the top cover of the dryer. Laying the top down, detached the two wires connected to the switch, (make sure to note the wire colors and place back in same order), turned the switch counterclockwise to loosen and take out. Took the new switch, placed in switch opening, turned clockwise to tighten and reattached the two wires. The Thermal fuse required taking the back cover of the dryer off. The Thermal Fuse is very easily found. Detached the two wires, lifted the fuse out. Placed new fuse in, reattached wires( easily slip on). Replaced the back cover. Plugged dryer in, pushed the button to start and 'Voila'!
Timer would not shut dryer down after 1st cycle. Opening and closing Dryer door was basically the "on/off" switch of Dryer.
On/Off Switch replacement. Unplug Dryer. Unscrew two Philips head screws on both (bottom) corners of front control panel. Slide panel off. Turn over and unplug old On/Off Switch. Lift tab on switch, and turn 1/4 turn counter clockwise and remove. Reverse order of disassembly and your done!

Elerctric Dryer Push Button Start
I am a 75 yr old woman. I cannot afford to have a service call plus parts. So I ordered the part from this company and used the video instructions to install. Now this should have been a 15 minute process but I was being careful.. I installed and pushed start and Hooray I did it

Dryer wouldn't start.
Let me start by saying that this was my first appliance repair EVER, & it was super easy. After watching the partselect.com video showing me how to replace the thermal fuse and starter switch, I finished the repairs within 20 minutes. I simply removed the back and top of the dryer, located the appropriate part, & replaced them according t

Dryer would not stop, start button circuit stuck in on position
After receiving the part I unplugged the dryer and took the back cover off of the controls on top off the driver with a Phillips screw driver and visually confirmed that the new switch matched. Removed the wires one at a time from the Push to start switch and connected them to the new one as I removed them. I then plugged the dryer back i

Dryer would not start
Dryer would not start when the start switch was pushed. I was advised by the local repair shop to replace the "push to start switch" and the "thermal fuze". I unplugged the dryer and removed the back dryer casing which took all of 3 minutes. I removed the start switch and thermal fuze using directions on the whirlpool parts forum. This t

The dryer works perfectly. 34 USD for parts and shipping instead of 600 for a new dryer. I have to open door or unplug to stop the dryer. The settings do not work....i will set on 60 minutes....keeps running even when it gets to the off selection. heats up good. cannot regulate controls....just keeps running.
For model number 110.66824694
Hi Kay,
Thank you for your inquiry. If the dryer is not stopping, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the door switch assembly, the internal bias thermostat, the thermal fuse, the push-to-start switch, the thermal cut-off and the door catch and strike. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
