Will this part fix the following problem? Problem: Freezer is too cold and does not appear to recognize (i.E., ignores) user's manual temperature setting. Condenser coils are clean, fan works, fridge operates fine; but the freezer side is super cooled ( -9 degrees) even though manual setting is +2 degrees. Motor can be heard running 99% of time with occasional shut off and immediately back on! All other features of this appliance seem to be operating normally.

Hi Jim,
Thank you for your inquiry. Yes this can be one of the parts that cause that issue. I would suggest testing it with a multi-meter to see if it is malfunctioning. I hope this helps. Good luck with your repair.

Refrigerator is too cold. This model doesn't seem to have a thermostat probe for the refrigerator compartment. Is the part i need the thermistor? Thanx.
For model number KSCS23INSS01
Hi Mark,
Thank you for your question. I would suggest checking this thermistor and also your defrost thermostat as well. It could be either of those two parts. Good luck with your repair.

The compressor never cuts off and the freezer drops down to -20 degrees if it runs awhile but the refrigerator stays at set temperature. The temperature in the freezer even though i set it to 0 degrees it will show 70 degrees. I will turn the unit off for 1-2 hours and then turn it back on.. my concern is that i am told if not the thermistor then the wiring may be bad and it cant be replaced so have to buy another refrigerator... please reply back any feed back...

Hello Dennis, thank you for your question. There are a few parts that could be the issue. First I would suggest pulling the appliance out from the wall, unplugging and defrosting the unit. Clean any dust or debris from around the compressor as well as the condenser coils. If the appliance is plugged in, and still runs continuously, you will want to check the Bi-Metal Defrost Thermostat, Defrost Heater, and condenser fan motor. If the issue persists after those parts are tested/replaced, the issue is most likely with the inverter board, or main electronic control board. I hope this helps!

What are the ohm readings for the thermistor?
For model number Whirlpool GC5SHEXNS03
Hello Brad, thank you for your question. At room temp the resistance for the thermistors would be 2.7K ohms. I hope this helps!

New refrigerator installed about 5 months ago. Several times a day (or maybe more), the freezer compartment temperature will drop by over 10 degrees while the refrigerator compartment temperature stays about the same. Is this normal?Example: if settings are 0 degrees and 36 degrees f. the freezer compartment temperature may go down to about -10 to -15 degrees f. for about 10 to 20 minutes, while the refrigerator compartment temperature doesn't change much.
For model number KBSD608ESS00
Hi Marty,
Thank you for your question. It is normal for the refrigerator temperature to fluctuate above or below the set temperature. The refrigerator normally operates at 37 degrees. The amount of food in the refrigerator will cause the temperature to change. Also, if the refrigerator is defrosting, the defrost thermostat or the adaptive defrost control board will adjust the temperature as well. If you feel the refrigerator is not working correctly, you will need to contact Whirlpool as you would be under warranty with them. Their telephone number is 1-866-698-2538. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My Kenmore side by side cools to the proper temperature, but after reaching the set temp, the compressor and cooling fan cuts on and off. Sometimes every few seconds and sometimes runs for quite some time and then starts the on and off again, every few seconds. It does hold the correct temp, but compressor never stops running, except when it is doing the constant on and off. Could the thermistor cause this problem?
For model number 106.444363303
Hello Robert, Thank you for the question. This could be caused by a defective Inverter Board. This is an inverter board to control the compressor. We hope this helps!
Can you please tell us where to find the Thermistor on the KSSP48QKS00 built-in refrigerator? The diagram shows part #39 on the outside of the panel, but does not state where it is once panel is removed.
What is the correct multimeter reading for this part?
For model number kssp48qks00
Hello Karen, thank you for writing. At room temp the resistance for the thermistors would be 2.7K ohms. The Thermistor is located in the freezer would have one on the left side wall with a cover over it that is held in by a screw. the refrigerator keeps running. do i need a new thermistor?
For model number jb36nxfxrw01
Hello John, thank you for reaching out. You may need to check the thermistor, part number PS11739132, to fix the issue. It senses the temperature inside the refrigerator and sends information to the electronic control to turn the compressor on and off. We hope this sorts out your problem!

Refrigerator freezer and stopped working unplugged the unit and plugged back in the freezer is working now but the refrigerator is not getting cool staying at 46 degrees
For model number KBSD608ESS01
Hi Larry, thank you for getting in touch. We assume that there is an issue with the refrigerator's damper control assembly, part number PS11749445. It helps control airflow through the freezer air duct to the refrigerator. We hope this sorts out your problem!

A Sears replacement part for Kenmore fridge.. Sears was a joke to deal with trying to rip me off with a service call and visit. They didn't even offer the part, but parts select(while not inexpensive) had the part I needed. Shipped and delivered in the time frame given. I will most definitely use them again when the time arises.
