OUR COMPRESSOR DIED. DO WE NEED THE COMPRESSOR KIT OR CONDENSOR ASSEMBLY? IT APPEARS IT OVERHEATED AS TOO MUCH LINT ON FAN COILS.
For model number GFE28GMKBES
Hi Rick, thank you for contacting us. Based on the description that you have provided, we would recommend cleaning the condenser coils. If the issue still persists, we would suggest replacing the compressor start relay, part number PS2577842, to solve the problem. Glad to be of assistance!
Hi, hopefully you can shoot me in the right direction. The frig doesn't cool any longer on either the frig or freezer side. I can hear a click that sounds like its coming from the compressor. I can hear it hum for about 5 seconds, then it clicks off. The compressor itself is warm to the touch but not hot. Someone said I need an inverter control board but when I look in the bottom left side next to the compressor, there is nothing there. I see no silver or black box that would resemble a module. Any suggestions for me? Thanks!
For model number PFE28PYNCFS
Hi Gary, thank you for reaching out. Your model comes with a start relay and overload kit, part number PS11701228. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this sorts out your problem!
I was informed by a GE authorized repair person that the frig needs a new compressor. It's under warranty but GE spokesperson quotes me the part as being wr87x23410 at a cost of $355.70. Your information indicates that number is a compressor kit, vs. A compressor and the price is more.
For model number PFE28RSHGSS
Hello Larry, Thank you for the question. Checking the model number we only list the Compressor Kit, PartSelect Number PS11721961 with the relay and over load and parts to install the compressor. We hope this helps!
