At what temperature does the defrost thermostat wr50x10070 close to allow the heater to operate. If you have it out (disconnected), it should be open and in order to test it how cold does it have to get.

Hello Randall, Thank you for the question. A defrost thermostat opens the heater circuit when the evaporator temperature rises above a preset temperature, 40°F (5°C) or more. Hope this helps!

Why are there two defrost thermostats

Hello Alfred, thank you for contacting us. According to our research, there is only one defrost thermostat, part number PS1155319. The second one is the temperature control thermostat which regulates the temperature in the refrigerator. We hope this helps!
