Fixed my filmy dishes problem
First off, this part was tremendously easy to install! The video guide bolstered my confidence in the process (having limited appliance repair experience), and the PartSelect diagnostic was dead-on accurate! Simply put, my "clean" dishes were coming out coated in a white, cloudy, film. After reading the diagnostic on the PartSelect site, I was able to determine that the Inlet Sump was probably the culprit. Upon closer inspection, the rubber tube on the sump that is vertically positioned into the dishwasher had begun to corrode long ago and was contaminating my wash cycle with every use. After replacing the part, the problem vanished immediately and (10 washes in) hasn't even hinted at returning since. I am supremely satisfied with PartSelect and intend on recommending them to everyone I know in need of appliance repair help.

Leaking hose
You tube Just mack sure the electric is off - breaker and live wire check pre starting
Rodents ate the sump inlet so machine leaked everywhere!
Turned off electric at the fuse box and shut off the water. Pulled the dishwasher out and took out bottom sprayer (pull up and twist), filter basket etc. Then put the washer on its back and removed sump inlet and adaptor. This entails removing a couple of hose clamps and 4 bolts that hold sump inlet in place. Replaced with new. Turned ove
... Read morer the machine and reinstalled the filter basket and sprayer after cleaning them. Reconnected the water and turned on the power. Machine works like new!!! Total parts cost me less than $50. Repair guy wanted around $300 to do it!!!!

is the inlet sump supposed to hold water when not in use
For model number GLD4200L00BB
Hello Scott, thank you for reaching out. The sump inlet is attached to the bottom of the dishwasher tub. The main purpose of the sump inlet is to collect water for the pump. If the water is stopped and not draining, then the most probably the sump filter is blocked. The sump filter removes food particles and debris from the water to prevent the drain from clogging. We would recommend replacing the sump filter and cover, part number PS2370522, to fix the issue. The sump filter comes with the filter cover. Glad to be of help!
