This deflector spring is supplied by the original manufacturer for use in leaf blowers. The deflector is a plastic/metal plate that allows the user to control the direction of the airflow made by the blower fan. The spring is a metal piece responsible for applying tension to the deflector which enables it to stay in the correct position and maintain a steady direction. Over time the spring may wear out, corrode, or break causing it to lose tension. A defective deflector spring will not allow you to control the airflow direction, the spread of leaves/debris, and it will be difficult to target specific areas to work on. Use a pair of pliers to remove the clips that secure the faulty spring and pull it off the nozzle of the blower. Place the new one in position and secure it with the appropriate fasteners.
