On the door by the ice maker says, cooling off. What does that mean and how do i fix it?
For model number WRF736SDAM10
PartSelect logo
Hi Michele, Thank you for your question. According to your owner's manual, Your refrigerator and freezer will not cool when cooling is turned off. To turn cooling off, press and hold the LOCK and MEASURED FILL buttons at the same time for 3 seconds. The Cooling Off icon will blink seven times and then remain lit as shown. IMPORTANT: To avoid unintentionally locking the dispenser or changing other settings, press both buttons at exactly the same time. When cooling is off, the dispenser paddles and all controls except Lock and Measured Fill are disabled. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day.

Hello Daniel, Thank you for the question. The Ice buildup happens when warm comes in contact with the cold evaporator coils in your freezer. We suggest checking the Door Gasket to make sure there is no gaps or damage and it is tightly sealed. Do not overfill the freezer or leave it too empty. We hope this helps!

Ice dispenser motor burnt out, water got inside.
Purchased new motor from Partselect.com. When it arrived it came with a new rubber washer that fitted on top of new motor that was not on old motor, that how water got into old motor. However, the instruction sheet did not give info on how to access the proper way to the motor that is the door. Not wanting to damage the freezer door assy. called in a tech who made it look easy, but even he had a little problem locating access panel that was directly under the motor in the freezer side of the door. After that it was a piece of cake.

while closing the door, the light switch fouled, resulting in the switch breaking
I used a flat screwdriver and released the lock tab on the bottom of the light switch, and pried the switch out, being careful to not damage the plastic around the mounting place of the switch, unplugged wiring from old switch, plugged in the new one and pushed the new switch into place. Job finished light switch now working.
