First, turn the breaker off to the oven, you don't want to electrocute yourself. There are two screws that hold the element to the back wall of the oven, undo those and pull the element towards you. There are two terminals at each end of the element, take these off, then reattach to the new element and screw back in to the back wall of the oven. This process takes maybe all of five minutes

First I unpluged the stove, then I removed the two screws that hold the heat element in place. Then I pulled the heat element out a couple of inches and disconnected the two wires.
I just plugged in the new element wires, pushed the element in place and replaced the screws.
It only took about 10 minutes at the most.

The hardest part was taking out original light bulb because screws on shield where hard to unscrew after all this years . The old bulb vent out leaving neck in socket. It took narrow electrical pliers to get neck out .The generic appliance bulb did not fit and had aluminum neck ,not recommended for brass sockets in ovens.Putting new light bulb in was not the problem.

The hardest part was figuring which breaker controlled the oven because it wasn't marked in my breaker box (it IS now!). So, first I killed all power to the stove, then unscrewed the 2 screws in the back of the oven holding the element. Pulled the element forward, then dissconnected the 2 clampy connector wires (yes, I'm a girl, no correct electrical jargon here). These were a little difficult because my oven is 21 years old & this is the first replacement I've had to do. I reconnected the new element clamps(which was easier), pushed the wires back through the opening & reinserted the screws. Threw the breaker back on, turned on oven to 200 degrees & let heat until the set temperature light turned off as a test. Voila - oven fixed!

We have had our Whirlpool oven for 22 years and became very concerned that a part would not be available. We were thrilled to find the part as well as install the new part ourselves. With a screw driver, we disconnected the old baking element ( be sure to shut the power while doing this) and screwed in the new one. That simple!!!

Everything worked perfectly---thanks to the suggestion of your call center agent. She suggested that since the replacement door handles were no longer available, I should consider repainting them--it worked like a charm. Please tell her she was a life saver. We rent that house in Fl and my returning tenants had complained about the discoloring refer handles. Thank you

I'll tell you.......PartSelect said the items would take from 3-5 days.....I got them in 48 hrs. I turned the breaker to the oven off. I unscrewd two screws from the back of the oven and pulled the element out and took it off of two connectors. Repeated the same with the broiler element. Job done saved $200.00...Job was quoted at $259.00

I completed my repair early in the day so that there would be no need to be concerned with any hot parts in the oven. I checked and rechecked that the oven was turned "Off". Then I removed the top rack to give myself room to work in the oven. Next, I unscrewed the screws that were in the "holding clips" that held the back of the element in place. Then I unscrewed the screws that held the element to the top of the oven. I then carefully pulled the element out of the sockets at the back of the oven. Once I noticed how the element was connected to the power, I continued to pull the element and the wiring out of the sockets about 3 inches. I then carefully disconnected the power from each element end by gently sliding the connector off the end of the element. As I removed each wire connection, I carefully situated the wire so that it didn't slip down its socket. I then removed the "holding clips" from the old element and slid them into place on the new element. I then reconnected the power to the new element. Then I carefully fed the wiring back into the sockets and then reinserted the ends of the element into the sockets. I then screwed the "hanging clips" back into place at the back of the oven. Next, I replaced the screws into the brackets that held the element onto the top of the oven. Once I made sure everything was back as it was, I said a little prayer and then turned on the broiler to see if it worked. And Yeah! It worked and I saved my family budget the price of a service call - and that was probably worth $150.00.

Replaced for a friend who was financially unable to purchase the unit. Turned off power to stove. Removed two screws. Inserted the unit and replaced the two screws. All fixed in about 15 min. Now she can enjoy baking again.

Shut power off to stove, by turning off breaker. Using a screw driver, removed the 2 screws securing broken bake element to back of oven wall. Grasp the 2 wires holding the prones & gentley removed broken element. Attached new bake element to wires, put screws back in & secured to oven wall, turned breaker to stove back on. Oven works great, had pizza for dinner.

I had previously removed the element so I began by installing the new element. The wire connectors, did not fit as tightly as they did on the old element due to a slightly different shape on the element. Therefore, I had to take some needle-nosed pliers in order to bend the oven's wire connectors and make them fit tighter. Once that was done I struggled a bit to slip the connectors onto the new element but finally got them on.

There is also a 208V element available for this oven but after calling the web site's phone number was advised that the 208v is for an apartment-type oven and that the 240V is appropriate.

Everything works well!

Shut off circuit breaker to stove. Removed oven racks from oven. Removed two phillips head screws located at the base of the bake element at the back of the oven. Gently pull the element toward the front of the oven until the wiring connected to the element by spade connections can be reached. I used a pair of pliers to help separate the element from the wiring. Removed disfunctional element from oven. Sweep out the bottom of the stove with a dustpan & brush. Lay the new replacement element on the bottom of the oven. Connect element to wiring via spade connectors. Gently feed the wires back thru the holes until the the tips of the element follow thru the wire holes until the base of the element is flat against the back of the oven. Screw in screws thru the base to the back of oven - tighten tight. Reset cir brkr. Test oven.
