Removed back wall cover over coil. Defrost all ice with a hair dryer. Cut white wires and replaced Temperature Sensor. It has been working for a week and no trouble at this time. If you have this system on your GE refrigerator do this before replacing the motherboard. I must admit I was thinking that was the trouble. Motherboard was replaced after 5 years old now 5 years later my thinking is this a 5 year problem. So try the Temperature Sensor.

Nothing to tell it was just a replacement part that the old part was removed and the new one inserted. Works like a dream Thanks

1 opened door 2. pryed cover off from cieling 3.cut and stripped wires on 4. sodered wires from old wires to new sensor. 5 insulated conection.6 put cover back on. This did not fix the problem it was the control moduel.

ordered replacement part with the understanding that tubing to the water valve could be easily removed. The tubes were carefully removed with some difficulty, and when the new tubes were inserted one leaked. The tube seat was not snug. Therefore a new water valve was purchased. The installation was successful within about 20 minutes. If I were to do the job again, both the water resevoir and valve would be ordered together.

Removed the lower 2 drawers, lower front grill, rear lower compressor cover. Removed the 2 water lines from the quick connects and screws from the water tank. Pulled lines through the hole in the right rear of the refrigerator and removed tank. Then reversed steps to install new tank. The upper plastic tank cover has 2 buttons on top that are really screws with a plastic cap, these are easily removed with pliers.

Removed icemaker from freezer, remove covers allowing access to dispenser. In the next step I removed the auger and broken shield as one assembly. With assembly out of icemaker it was a simple task of taking the broken shield off of auger and putting the new one on. Reassemble in reverse order as removed.

It was much easier than I had anticipated it was going 2B. All it intaled was 2 undue the 2 water lines w/a 1/2 inch wrench, take out the 2 screws on the top of the head on the inside of the refrigerator, then pull it out. I then just slipped the new head in, replaced the 2 screws, replaced the filter (definitely not overly tightening it this time) by putting some waterproof food grade grease, making it much easier 2 push up & turn. After, I went 2 the back of the refrigerator & reconnected the 1 line 2 the fridge & then the other 2 the water supply. "Walla" we were making ice again & able 2 get ice cold water again, also. The entire process took approximately 30 minutes 2 complete & that's bcuz of my limited disabilities. A younger person could probably be able 2 do it possibly faster.

Cut out cracked tubing between valve and where tubing enters into refrigerator. Cut new tubing to length and attach to existing using union.

removed the ice, auger, bin assembly and slowly examined it and began disassembly until i found the broken part and then removed them .. i went online and found the parts almost instantly the parts came in 2 days , the repair video,s were most helpful so much so that i decided to replace the ice chute, door solenoid which looked difficult until i watched the repair video and read other peoples feed back well good luck ! I went to the internet and found parts select web site. Saw all of the possible fixes for my problem and read all of the other repair stories. My story actually became a journey that is still continuing. I first changed the water filter, but still no water at the dispenser. I next disconnected the coupling at the bottom of the freezer door that carries water to the dispenser and when the dispenser was depressed, water flowed at the coupling, but not at the dispenser. After reconnecting the coupling, I turned the freezer setting to 1 for 4-5 days, but still no water at the dispenser (possibly the line was frozen, but we had recently been away for a week and the water dispenser still supplied water at a freezer setting of 4). Now I am at the point of the journey into replacing parts one at a time to get water. First I ordered the dual water valve for the ice maker and water dispenser. I replaced this valve with instructions from Parts Select and still no water at dispenser. Next I ordered and replaced the switch at the dispenser lever and still no water. Next was the solenoid attached to the ice door, ordered, replaced and still no water at dispenser. I am now at the final part in this repair and that is the $132 circuit board. So I will be ordering this part soon and hopefully that will fix the issue.

Removed light cover, found 2 screws in front and rear of light area.Remove screws and you can unplug light to get out of way, but not necessary. Next pop off plastic cover with flat head screw driver and remove the two screws under cover. Next pull cover off water filter and remove water filter this will give you room to slide inlet cover out. Install plastic cone provided by in new kit. Next slide new cover over cone and re-install bottom screws, however leave them loose in order to adjust for the following screws to line up. After all screws and plugs are in place snug all screws. Replace light cover an install water filter and cover. You are done.

Firmly but gently pulled apart both sides of module shelf to release the damaged clear insert. It came out very easy as there are two tabs, one on each side that fit into the module shelf. Did the same thing to install the new insert. It took 2-3 minutes to complete. Very Easy. Part #PS2323441 fit my older GE fridge perfectly.

First:
Remove all shelf’s and drawers from fridge inside that were on the way of the water tank
Second:
Pull the fridge from the wall
Turn off the water supply:
Unplugged the power supply
Third:
Remove the cardboard cover at bottom of the fridge on the back for better access to the water pipes
From the front remove the toe kick for better access at the water pipes
Disconnected the water pipe at the front left side, use a rag or paper towel to hold the water that may drip ( bigger pipe)
Remove the covers on the top of the water tank inside the fridge
Disconnected the water pipe at the back left side ( smaller pipe)
Unscrew the water tank (two screws)
Pull the water tank out with the water pipes attached
Fourth:
Install the new water tank assembly , make sure the pipes goes on the hole at the right side and reaches the from and back
Connect pipes until the line that shows on the pipes
Screw back the new water tank
Put the protections back on the top
Plug the fridge and open the water supply to make sure there is no water leaks
The water is ready to be use

Followed instruction video. Replaced water tank, flushed line from house water. Reconnected line and cycled until tank filled. I have ice and water now.
