What does the damper control do and will that stop air flow to the refrigerator? The evaporator fan is running, the freezer is still making ice, working fine, but fridge part is not cooling. CS told me to get thermistor instead, but how will that help air to blow?

Hello Lisa, thank you for contacting us. The damper control controls the cold airflow from the freezer compartment into the refrigerator compartment. If you are not feeling the cold air in the refrigerator, the most likely cause is a faulty damper. We would also suggest testing the thermistor, part number PS3644971, for continuity using a multimeter. Sometimes due to a wrong temperature signal from the thermistor, the control board shuts off the damper. Please reach out to customer service if you need help placing an order. Glad to be of help!
Our refrigerator makes a loud noise when cooling, however when the refrigerator doors are open it stops, but starts back up as soon as the doors are closed. Is there a problem with this model of refrigerator?

Hello Linda, thank you for your question. Unfortunately, we do not have any information on any specific issues with that unit, for more information you could speak with LG directly. In regards to parts to check to determine what the issue is, we would recommend checking the evaporator fan motor, condenser fan motor and the damper control. I hope this helps.

Video makes it look easy. Kenmore refrigerator does not have "groove" along the right hand side of switch that allows for pushing down on release. Used a thin screwdriver to get under to push while holding switch edge with pliers. Kept slipping. Tape sides to avoid scratching inside of refrigerator.
removed the upper freezer door to access screws to remove lower door. laid bottom door on its side, removed bad bushing, put new bushing in, put bottom door back on refridge, put upper door back on fridge. Door worked easy as when new. good closure of door and story..Happy customer, and wife even happier.....thank you....
This couldn't have been easier. Two tiny screws in the front needed unscrewed, and then two plastic clips in the middle just had to be popped lose. Finally, you unplugged the power cord. Then, you just needed to reverse the process by plugging the new ice maker in, popping the clips in place, and screwing the two holes back in and turning
