LA2000H Admiral Washer - Instructions

Disconnect all water supply and unplug washer. Remove 3 screws on back panel of the washer. This will expose the pump unit. Detach belt on the bottom of the washer. Then detach two hoses that connects to the pump unit. Use pliers if necessary to disconnect hoses. Use 5/16 socket with extension to take out three bolts the connect pump to the washer. That's it, now replace old pump unit and with new. Place bolts back in the 3 holes, reattached hoses, cover the back with 3 scres. Connect the belt to the pulley system on the bottom. Connect water supply and plug it in.

after doing some research I found out that a loose or slipping water pump belt could cause the water pump to not pump out the water correctly. Under the washer is the belt. All you do is have someone lift the front of the washer up enough that you can reach under and remove the belt. Then replace the belt back like you took it off.

pulled the machine out, tilted it backward to expose the bottom. pulled off the old belt. got the new belt started on the three pulleys. pulled the belt to spin it , and...............done !!

Piece of cake. Raise up the front of the machine. the belt slips of easy by turning the main drive wheel. put the belt on the two small one and then rotate the big wheel as you slip the belt into the grove. good idea to first clean the wheels of any old belt material that may be worn off. Piece of cake!

I had my 12 year old son climb to the back and he took off all the screws necessary in the back and took the part completely off. We ordered the part and waited for it to come in. We replaced the part, the screws and honestly, the only thing we had trouble with was replacing the small cover where the hoses stick out of the washer. Was an easy efficient experience that may have saved me $300.00+ dollars. Thanks to my 12 year old son we got her fixed up. The washer works like brand new.

Removed access panel to expose pump, removed drive belt, and old pump, repeated the avove steps in reverse order, tested for leaks and proper operation.

first removed panel from rear of washer removed hoses and drained water in them, removed the 3 screws and removed the belt then removed the pump. Replaced with new one and put back screws,hoses and belt. walaaa.... it works like new!!!!

Disconnected both power and hot and cold input water lines. Laid the washer on its front side for access to the bottom. Removed the small access panel from the back of the machine to remove the metal screws holding the pump in place. Removed the single drive belt. New pump installed easily, replaced the belt and access panel. Reconnected the power and water hoses and everything worked fine.

I followed Gary from Sioux City IA instructions. Very well explained.

I followed the instructions that other posters suggested. The springs were the toughest part to remove and reinstall. Having my wife push the tub enabled me to use vice grips to get them back on. Read about the coins or washers to spread the springs too late... would have helped. Running a wash now and it's spinning great and no noise!

Went to website, looked up make and model, looked at photo's discription, studied it, and then went in and removed front panel, turned off water, removed clamps holding hoses too dishcharge pump, mopped up water, and then just reinstalled new piece, the way the old came out, re attached belt to pulley assembly, turned water back on, and did a test for leakage and wala washer back in working order in less than an hour, and saved hundreds of dollars with out maytag repair man.

The pump was easy enough to replace. Access panel in the back and 3 screws and it was off and back on in less than 20 minutes. It was putting the belt on that gave me the most trouble even though one of the pulleys moved to allow for easy replacement it did not move enough. It took me another 30 minutes just to get the belt on. I finally decided to place the belt on the two smaller pulleys and save the larger one for last and it went on with no trouble at all. Learn from my error =]

It was easy to replace the water pump

Reverse the process to install new pump
Unplug the machine
Place pad on floor to protect the machine from scratches
Lay front of machine on floor
Remove back cover (10 screws)
Disconnect 2 hoses
Remove 4 screws which secure pump to bottom frame
Remove belt
Remove pump

Reverse the process to install a new pump

The part arrived via UPS in 3 days. It was double boxed (well packaged) and most importantly, it was the correct part.
