non stick coating coming off in ice cubes / cubes wouldn't come out of tray
Five minutes with a phillips screw driver and the cube maker was changed. . . In the process, I failed to unplug the unit, and shorted the fill valve in the back. Again, five minutes with a nut driver and it was changed. No need for a PHD or the cost of a service technician for either job.

Leaking ice maker
Arrived soon than expected. Unplugged some wires, removed face plate, 3 screws--install and do reverse.
Easier than I would think---Saved $150- to have someone else do it.
Works fine.

ice maker quit
Removed the elec connection (after unplugging app) found it easier to remove from appliance. Remove the three screws ( do not temove,....just loosen, the top two) bottom must be removed! Insert the power connection, exchange the tilt up rod, line up the water connection and place back on the two top screws. Tighten and relpace the bottom screw. I found out the hard way.... you cant't see the two top screws . The slots on the ice maker just fit over the screw heads.... it's cold in there!!!

No Ice Production
I performed basic troubleshooting to make sure there was power and water. Based on historical research on this particular ice maker, I decided that the best direction was to replace the entire assembly. I found this item on this site, ordered it and received it a few days later. I basically removed the ice pan and a few items in the freezer, removed the three mounting screws with either a flat blade screwdriver or nut driver, pulled the electrical harness out of the back wall of the freezer and transferred it to the new ice maker and then installed the new unit, really that simple. Iwas concerned at first, not seeing any activity in the new ice maker but after 15 minutes or so I heard ice falling into the ice bin. Well worth replacing seeing how simple this job was.

Ice Tray leaked
The video of the installation was the best help I have ever had. Rather that vague written instructions that are usually so poorly written they are of no help, the video showed exactly how to do it. I wish everyone provided videos like this!

Ice maker quit working
I took the screws out holding old old ice maker, unpluged the electrical socket and old unit came right out. All I had to do then was plug electrical socket into new icemaker place unit in position and put the one screw back in the held it in place. Plug frig and and it filled with water in about 15 minutes and started making ice. Part was a exact match to the one I removed.

It was real easy. I unpluged the fridge. Took out the three screws that held the icemaker to the wall. Unpluged the wire harness. Removed the old icemaker and reversed the order to install the new one. Everything lined up perfectly.

No problems.
Removed two screws on top. Then one under the ice maker ,held on to it while I unpluged the white flat plug. Then installed new one in reverse. Of course re-connect power wires on.
I turned power off at fuse box.
First batch of ice in an hour or so.

Ice Maker stopped making ice
First, I removed the ice bucket. Then I removed the two top left screws and bottom screw with a 1/4 inch nutdriver. I pulled the assembly out as far as the wiring harness would allow, disconnected the harness on the lower left side, and removed the unit. I removed the old motor cover and ice stop wire and placed them on the new unit. I then reversed the process. It went so fast that the freezer must have still been close to zero degrees because it filled with water within 15 minutes.

No ice being made - Kitchenaid fridge
Barely a couple years old, was not getting any ice. I carefully selected the right part on this website and ordered. Around $150 and was easy install.
1. Mine was upper and lower freezer. you slide the freezer door out and lift it up, it will come right off.
2. pull out the tray above and ice bucket
3. Use a screwdriver to unscrew 2 screws above and one below the existing icemaker
4. unclip the power cable line
Thats it!
Point to note: the new piece you get will not have the power cable line, the water cover and the metal arm. I would think it should have for $150, but keep this as you will need a few little parts to complete the new part before installing it back.
VERY easy to do installation. Dont pay anyone to do this, it can be done easy!
