Ice maker stopped making ice.
The small arm in the tray for the ice maker stopped moving. I put hot water in there to see if anything was clogging up the line or the tray, but nothing was. I then pushed on the arm and it moved pretty easily. So I took off the front cover and the motor; I saw that the plastic piece connecting to the gear was broken. So I realigned and replaced the motor. Ice maker is working like a champ again.

Light did not come on (bad bulb!) on TC18KL
I have never before seen a bulb with the filament intact not light. If the bulb's filament seems intact, screw the bulb into a known working lamp and see if it lights. When screwing it back into the socket in the fridge, it takes a bit of extra effort to fully seat (until it does, it won't light!). For replacing the switch, I unplugged the unit, used a paint scraper and worked it under the switch bezel from the right side. A bit of moxie, and the switch came out. The replacement switch had a different spade contact spacing than the original. I used a pair of scissors to cut the rubber bridge between the two switch wire connectors so I could connect to the new switch. In the end, it turned out to be the bulb. NOTE: The Model TC18KL is _not_ listed! What I finally found that the number "P7803211WL" on the sticker is actually a manufacturing code. Found this out by searching, and Sears' part search came up with matches.

Icemaker not making ice
Had a 1999 Kitchenaid Superba refrigerator that quit making ice. Based on online research, my icemaker's problem could have been either the icemaker itself or the dual water valve. I opted to try the icemaker replacement first after watching the helpful installation video. The only issue I had that made the repair the slightest bit difficult was that bolt-headed screws were used to secure the icemaker to the fridge wall rather than Phillips and the one nearest the door can't be seen while trying to loosen it. It only took an extra ten minutes to overcome this obstacle (maybe 20 minutes total). After replacing the icemaker, I thought the water valve must have been the problem after all since the unit did not immediately start filling with water. However, once the unit chilled down, it worked perfectly.

icemaker was leaking water into freezer compartment
Found the replacement icemaker I needed on your web site, ordered and recdeived it within 2 days. Watched the how to video and did the replacement in less than 5 minutes. However,I waited(2 days) for the icemaker to start working, it never did. Thinking there was another problem in the icemaking system, I contacted a local appliance repair shop. They checked the entire system and everything was ok except the new icemaker. Turns out the new icemaker was defective. I contacted PartSelect and reported the technicians findings. I had another new icemaker in 2 days again. I again installed the new one and am now making ice. Thank you for the installation video and the teriffic service.

Old Ice maker leaking
Removed the old one. The new one had a power chord attached but it did not connect to the wire in the freezer. I saw it could be unplugged from the new ice maker and the power chord from the freezer plugged right in. Once installed, was not sure it worked but after a few hours it filled with water and started making ice. Works great now.

Quit making ice
I have a side by side so the space to work in was limited but I still completed the install in about 30 minutes. Unplugged the refrigerator then loosened the top two screws took out the bottom screw lifted the ice maker out just far enough to disconnect the power cord reversed the procedure. plugged it back in started making ice in 30 minutes. Probably would have not have taken that long my MS slowed me down a little. The repair man was going to be $300.00 plus $$75.00 trip charge what I paid was $128.41 that was with 3 day shipping.

Wasn't making ice
Turned off the water to the ice maker; disconnected the wiring harness to the ice maker; unscrewed it from the freezer (two screws). Unhooked the ice lever bar, opened up the motor assembly. Switch the motor out (two screws). Installed in reverse order.

Ice maker wasn't making ice
Pulled out the icemaker. Switched out the Motor Assembly (so easy) and woke up the next morning with ice. Our ice dispenser wasn't working either. This repair inspired me to take the ice dispenser apart and I found that the lever arm wasn't touching the contact when pressed. We now have ice and a working ice despenser. Oh yeah--my wife was so impressed. The part came in on time and it was very very easy to replace.
