My GE oven is getting to hot and is burning food. I unplugged it and checked the wiring in the back and the right side of the broiler element wire is burnt any ideas
For model number JBS160DM1WW
Hello Scott, Thank you for the question. We recommend replacing the wiring for the element and testing the Oven Sensor. Testing the temperature sensor probe on your oven is easy. With the sensor at room temperature, measure the resistance between the two prongs at the end of the sensor connector. The resistance of the sensor should read approximately 1080 – 1090 ohms at room temperature. We hope this helps!

Have not owed this stove long and three burners already do not work. Can burners be replaced with regular coils that do not have the pressure buttons in the middle
For model number JBS160DM1WW
Hello Nancy, thank you for your question. No, they are not interchangeable. The 6 inch coil is PS12702985 and the 8" is PS12582590. Good luck with your repair.

What size stove top filter do I need
For model number JBS160DM1WW
Hi Patty,
Thank you for your question. Are you referring to the grease filters found in a range hood or that go under the microwave? If so, we will need the model number from them. Here is a link links from our website that you may use to find the model number under your microwave. If you have a range hood, the model number is usually found either on the left or right wall of the range hood canopy, or you will need to remove the filters and look inside the range hood for it. If you could resubmit your question with this information, we would be happy to help you. We are open 7 days a week. We look forward to hearing from you!

Oven is over heating. What could it be?
For model number JBS160DM1WW
Hello Kristina, thank you for contacting us. GE ovens usually get overheated because of a faulty thermostat (part number: PS8754468). If the thermostat is faulty, the heating element can not stop heating at the required temperature. You should also check the oven vent and remove any blockage if found. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any further queries, our customer service will be happy to help.

Lower bake Element would not heat.
First I slid the stove out and unpluged it, then removed two screws, slid out element, disconected two wires, slid new element in to place, pluged two wires in ,put into place and installed two screws, pluged stove back in, and turned on to try. Works perfect.

terminal block melted
The existing terminal block on my Ge oven/Range had melted due to a loose wire causing sparking and starting the plastic casing of the terminal block on fire and melting it, Part select made the part easy to find and had it at my house in 2 days. All I had to do was remove six screws to take the back sheet metal cover off of the oven. U

nscrew the terminal connections remove two mounting screws that held the terminal on to the oven body. This was a little trickier than it should have been because the melted plastic had reformed making it very hard to access the mounting screws. i then mounted the new piece and plugged the oven in, it took 15 minutes and was very easy. definitely saved me at-least a $100 for the service call i would have made if finding the part wasn't so convenient
